Future Shop's ( I think, the Web Code is blurry ) (http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?logon=&langid=EN&sku_id=0665000FS10061223&catid=22333) :?:
And Best Buys?
Best Buy's (http://www.bestbuy.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?logon=&langid=EN&sku_id=0926INGFS10067520&catid=20371#)

I dunno some of thes LCD's don't look that hot 2 me since I've never heard of these companies until now (MEtro & Hdview).
I wouldn't take that kind of risk with an LCD. Why is it that BB & FS always try to push these LCD's of questionable quality around this time of the year. You never see these low grade brands sold the other 11 months of the year....There's a catch in there somewhere, so i'm staying away from these no name LCD's.

I brought the Metro 17" monitor at futureshop back when labour day, it was on sale at 199$ (no rebate). The one I get the first time was a defact, after one exchange everything works out fine. quality is about the same of those benQ cheap grade lcd, no dead pixel though, having dual LCD screen for $400 is not bad of a deal. I'll say it worth the $$$. Hot deal for me or for those who want cheap LCD.

I got mine too. But with 1 dead pixel. I was told by BB Manager that some shipments will be coming after the Boxing Week at the retail of $299! So, if we think this are cheap LCDs, it won't be anymore. They will exchange mine with those new shipments even after 14days.
OK, given that these LCDs are of inferior quality. Since we bought it for $200, I think it is adviseable to purchase Performance Service Plan for $70 for 4 years.
Therefore, for the total of $270, its guaranteed you will have 17"inch LCD for 4 years. Am i right?

Only if Metro are still in business and still making the monitors.

Seems that QA was lacking since another person I knpw had one that would not even sync up properly with their computer.
I cringe at no name computer products from companies that may not be around in 6 months.

Anything with PSPlans are convertible to credit in-store if it bogged down during usage. Those companies that existed for 6 months are just to save us to spend on better models.
My money spent on this 17"LCD could be equivalent to 19"LCD in later days. If I am being told to surrender my LCD for repair, I better buy one as replacement and return it after 14days and buy one again until I got my LCD's. They would be forced to give me a replacement by this way.

Don't they have to repair or replace with a monitor of equal or greater value? It doesn't matter if Metro goes out of business.

If your spending about $270 + tax = 310 ... I rather buy the Dell E193FP for $320 (can get discount if you call - $300) so $320 +tax = 368
YOu pay $58 for 1. a bigger LCD screen 2. 3 years warranty 3. Name Brand Product.
