My wife was in Roots today and was given the tip that their boxing day (week?) sale will be 30% off of the lowest prices.
The sales person also told my wife that she could come back and price match what she was buying today - only she must bring in the item and the receipt (not just the receipt on its own).
Sorry I don't have more details on how many days this will run, or if they have doorcrashers. If someone else has more info they can update this thread and I can update the Title to reflect the new info.

sounds good, i like roots stuff, hopefully they'll further reduce some of their stuff for the sale.

Too bad the guy with the BB and FS flyers didn't use the same reasoning to give us the early tip off...!

That's good news that they have a price protection policy. I may just go there before Boxing Day and buy my things. That way, I'll probably get a better selection and a lot less people will be there....but will they actually be doing returns / price protection that day?

thanx for the heads up!
i might go before next week to check out what's in stores... since u can go back and get the price difference... i don't wanna have to deal with the change rooms on that day... and they'll probably run out of my size by the time i get there anywayz......
thanx again.... happy shopping everyone! ;)

I went in to the Roots at Yonge & St. Clair (Toronto) last night and they said they don't have this policy. I went home and checked the back of an old receipt and this policy isn't listed. I know Gap has this policy & it's on the back of their receipt.
So my guess is, as mentioned in the original post, you need to bring in the original purchase for a refund and then re-purchase to get your $ back.

That's the most RIDIKULOUS thing I've ever read. Even worse than my spelling of ridiculous.

I jusr checked with my wife. She was at Roots Kids at Sherway Gardens and they did tell her you could do this. I guess it would be more accurate to call it a price adjustment than a price match (as I did in my original post). They did say you must bring the item in with the tags on and the original receipt to do this. She says they also said that this would work on Boxing Day. I don't personally guarantee this, so don't freak out on me if you have issues on B Day. Every store manager and sales associate is unique and may say something different. But I do trust my wife on what she says. We don't mess around with our deal hunting! :cheesygri
Have a great Christmas and Boxing Day one and all!!!
