Good post! Cheers. Those Memorex batteries are GREAT for my Digital Camera. A pack lasts me well over a year, and the batteries seem to get lots of pics before needing replacement. ;)

Thanks soooo much for posting!

But, I must say, I am very very dissapointed in the 'deals'. The past few years' BDays at CS have been awesome - I've bought from them almost every year. However, if that's all there is.....well, let's just say I hope the others are better. This just seems like a pretty normal sale (maybe SLIGHTLY above average).

For anyone in Alberta, OEM Depot (http://oemdepot.com) has a 512MB Kingston flash drive for $30 with no MIRs

compusmart has a good track record with RFD'ers... the only thing is that they charge tax on the IR portion as well. i contacted their general manager 2 years back and they promised to credit my account; i never followed up because it was just a couple of bucks. i'll keep an eye on them this boxing day ;)

No, I have not seen those 2 games for $18 at Wal Mart. CS's B1G1 may not be such a bad deal if it incl some of the newer games like GTA or Socom.

Got a pair of Acer 17" CRTs, they've been solid for 2 years.

My IBM CRT lasted for 10 years, the Acer one lasted for 4 until the screen started flickering non-stop.

Compusmart sale is up... The logitech EX110 Wireless Mouse/KB is not a bad deal...

Which would be better? The logitech EX110 or the Benq X805 from FS?

The one from FS: Benq X805 (http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?logon=&langid=EN&sku_id=0665000FS10068243&catid=14266)

Both are $29.99.

Thanks for posting this HardOn. Don't like this pay tax thing on instant rebates. It's a scam IMO.

Annoying, but not a scam. As usual, the government isn't interested in helping us with a deal. They charge the tax on the item and unless the merchant is willing to pay it for you, you get dinged. I discovered this on a coupon item where they had a trial of a cold remedy for .01. I still had to pay the tax on the full price of the item. That's because they rebate you the amount, instead of dropping the price. Not much difference as percieved by the average consumer, but a big difference to the merchant and the gov.

Then there are some provinces that charge tax on the tax! So my .01
item cost about $1.20. Was I annoyed!

Some of the items I like online are:

HP LaserJet 1020 printer - $100
http://www.compusmart.com/Product/Default.aspx?SupplierPartNo=611145

Microsoft Age of Mythology Gold Edition - $10
http://www.compusmart.com/Product/Default.aspx?SupplierPartNo=511596

Microsoft Rise of Nations Gold Edition - $10
http://www.compusmart.com/Product/Default.aspx?SupplierPartNo=511530

Myst V: End Of Ages - $10
http://www.compusmart.com/Product/Default.aspx?SupplierPartNo=726288

Belkin Surge Protector 7-Outlet w/ Tel Protection 12 foot cord - $8
http://www.compusmart.com/Product/Default.aspx?SupplierPartNo=055006

All of these items are on sale as a result of instant rebates... and Compusmart is only charging taxes on the after rebate amount on instant rebate items. :)

There is a list of other items currently on sale (some with instant rebates, others with MIR) here:
http://www.compusmart.com/SmartRebates.aspx

p.s. You need to have $49.99 in your cart to qualify for free shipping.
