Does anyone know where I can get a light-weight aluminium racing jack for a good price in the GTA area?

Try and haggle with Variety Tools in the North York Sheridan Mall at Jane and Wilson in Toronto.

Did you end up picking one up? If so, where and how much?
Thanks.

Do you know what the rating is for the jack? i.e. 3 ton?

Pretty sure that it's 1.5

Thanks for the message.

But, I'm hoping to pick up something in the 3-5 ton range.

Costco has / had an alu racing jack, 3 ton. OTherwise, you'll have to buy a big heavy one (which is fine if you only use it at home)

I've had 2 Ton hydraulic jacks in the past, and they have been okay for maybe 2-3 years but afterwards, they start to deteriorate. I don't mind the heavy kind, as long as it is sturdy.

Any idea how much Costco sells the 3 ton for?

It was ~200$.

I currently use the C-tire 3 ton super heavy jack that comes with the jack stands. Works great. Paid the kit ~70$ when it was on sale.

I'm using a Craftsman jack from sears -- it's black and massive. It's low enough for my Prelude and hefty enough for my Dad's Astro van.

I think it went for less than $200 regular price. If weight isn't an issue (ie. you won't be bringing it to the track) it's a great jack.

I recommend against jacks that have a "quick rising" feature that brings the head up in faster to the car and then becomes normal when weighed down -- the quick rising cylinders start to leak after a while...
