Was looking for this card and found it on this site:

159.99 @GENITECH Computers (http://www.genitechcomputers.com/products/description/bfg_6600_gt_oc_128mb_ddr3_hdtv_pci_e_graphics_card _w-sli_technology-retail_box/index.html)
Definatly PMable with NCIX ... they will add 3% surcharge to the PM.. but still after taxes and MIR is around $150...
Only problem is you'll have to be invoiced before jan 31st to qualify...
Good luck..

I just noticed that too. This is indeed cheap. I wanna try SLi now.
For out of BC residents, you should really PM ncix and save the 7% PST and take advantage of the cheap $5.99 shipping. Staples will charge you $15 for shipping plus the PST. Even if you use Staples online coupon, I don't think it will be as cheap.
Good luck.

The 6600 is fairly old news now, with the 7800 series, and the new "lowend" card being bumped up to the 6800 GS.
You should get interesting results if you ran 2 in SLi, but I wonder if the performance of 2x6600GT is better or worse than a single 6800GS?

You do realize that a GeForce 6800 GS costs about $230-$240 CAD, with many brands in the $$250-$300 range... right?
For $119 total, the GeForce 6600 GT is a great deal for the money.

Why would a single 6600gt outperform a 7800gt under same settings?
You should also note that that in the single 6600GT vs SLI review he says:
All in-game settings were put to their maximums. I used the built-in timedemo function and three proper runs at each resolution and image quality setting to determine the average.
I provided the information as a rough estimate of what to expect anyway. Take Tom's Hardware review under Quake 4 for instance (this also clearly shows the 7800gt is the way to go for bang for the buck):
http://www.tomshardware.com/2005/12/09/seven_of_nvidia/page37.html
Still the 6600GT is a great card at that price. I'd still never go SLI though, expecially not as an upgrade path (i.e. buy one now, another later). Either buy 2 now or don't bother at all.

FS Markham won't match - because Genitech is "limited quantities".
Limited quantities means you can not get a rain check from Genitech so they have to verify availibility. They should still PM it if it is availible.
Try Staples online and apply $20 coupon. They will add $15 to Genitech's price for shipping.

Hi all,
Some info on the card. I picked up the last PCI-e version today from Genitech. The owner said he'll have 3 more PCI-e coming tomorrow, so it's first come first serve.
However, he says he has plenty of AGP cards - so if anyone needs the AGP version, order away! :)

Well, b*stards at Empress FS wouldn't PM. I was hoping to save another $16. The "extremely limited quantity" killed the deal. The GM was about to PM but some other pr*ck said no. I argued, but no luck. Quite pissed. In hindsight, I should have argued the "in stock" line on the printout or I should have called Genitech. If I had some AtHome GCs, I would have definitely fought more for this. Oh well, FS = new-Staples. I ended up ordering from Genitech.

We appreciate your inquiry concerning this issue ,
I believe they make about 3 models of the 6600, the one that we carry is
a Dual DVI-I, the one that you want to price match is not. There are
also different minimum requirements for the two cards. Unfortunatly they
are different cards and we are unable to complete this price match.

What about if you purchased this card the other way around
1. Buy the card from FS and get the 100 MIR
2. Fill out the BFG rebate found on the Genitech website. The rebate form does not state that the card must be bought from a specific retailer to get the 40MIR.
This wouldnt work if both rebates were sent to BFG because you wouldn't have 2 UPC's to mail in.

I hit the future shop in Kanata, on merivale, and at gloucester, all three will not price match for different reasons. Kanata said its cause they genitech is not store front, which is not true and they wouldnt believe me or check. Merivale said future shop only price matchs on ottawa, which is bull sh*t and they refused outright to even look at there online policy. Gloucester wouldnt do it because it says limited quantities. Ive sent an e-mail to future shop for online PM, but the reply was i have to buy it, then send a pm request, and they wont tell me until i pay $319 for it, more bs. Stooples might do it but only 100% plus shipping, and im still waiting on NCIX to PM. Funny thing was FS on GLoucester said they would meet me half way at $260, then i showed em pccyber had it on reg $214, and they refused that because cost was to low....If any of these stores foes the pm im getting 5 agp and 3 pci-e....for my own purposes, and if anyone needs the $40 mir form i have the pdf, and you must buy the product before jan 1, so dec 31 and send it in by jan 31....yea

OT but:
clean your fans, blow out any dust that may be blocking the intakes and exhaust holes on your case,
clean up your wiring IE: tie em up out of the way.
possibly your card heatsink isnt making good contact with your GPU.
switch to an arctic silencer heatsink.
the card is factory OC'ed so it will run a little hotter. check your AGP voltages too.

well the card is $160 after the FS $100 MIR, but you have to cut out the original UPC for it.
the BFG rebate also requires this. i dont tknow if the box has 2 upc's like the Antec Case boxes did*
*refer to the big Office depot Antec case sale
if you can claim both, disregarding the upc issue, its a smoking deal.
269 X 1.14 % tax (GVRD) - $100 FS MIR = $206 - $40 BFG MIR = $166.66 shipped.

FS should not have PM'ed any of those cards, but i was able to get 2 ped from genitech. The deal is it is listed as "limited time only". Its all depending on the FS mamngers discretion. If you still want it for $195 and free shipping, plus a $100 MIR, the go order from FS.ca and PM to pccyber.ca. they have a store front, its not on a special sale, and they have lots in stock. FS offers free shipping on them, and the $100 MIR can be used. SO, after MIR, your gonna be paying under $140, still a friggin sweet deal, and thats for the PCI-E or the AGP version.
Good to know, FS has 260 in stock online.

well the card is $160 after the FS $100 MIR, but you have to cut out the original UPC for it.
the BFG rebate also requires this. i dont tknow if the box has 2 upc's like the Antec Case boxes did*
*refer to the big Office depot Antec case sale
if you can claim both, disregarding the upc issue, its a smoking deal.
269 X 1.14 % tax (GVRD) - $100 FS MIR = $206 - $40 BFG MIR = $166.66 shipped.

BTW staples has this card too for $299. PM time if you are so inclined :)
I doubt you will be able to do both rebates, and unfortunatly, you have way more out of pocket expenses doing it this way... not much of a deal if you have to wait a couple months for half your money back...

just curious if there's a way to do the Genitech rebate online, like the Staples Easy Rebate system ...

Unfortunately it appears they use the same mail-in rebate-centre in Fonthill as FS (L0S 1E0)

WTF!?
they sent me a USED card! i really think this is a refurb or return as there is DOG hair in the heatsink and some of the parts have the bags ripped open!
NOTE: I don't have any pets.
WTF! WTF!

now I'm wondering if my card is even a 6600 GT OC!

I suspect this too. Although I don't have dog hairs on mine, my fan occasionally doesn't spin on startup and I have to flick it to start.
BTW, I have black DVI connectors. One sealed, one not. My Y cable is sealed, so is the VIVO cable.

reply i got from Genitech this AM
Hello xxxx,
Please have the package ready for pick as we will have fedex pick that up Tomorrow. We found that a few of the cards we had in stock had this issue and are currently investigating. We did not look in the package as they are all shrink wrapped, and we need to find out how BFG was able to do this with their cards. We apologize you had received a product in that condition. At the moment we are sold out on the 6600Gt AGP, if we cannot get you a replacement right away we will forward you a full refund.
Regards,

I asked for a $30 discount on the card rather than shipping one back and forth. I hadn't yet installed it so i dunno if it even works. if it works and they agree I'll install and take a discount, if its dead, obviously its gotta go back.
BTW they are OOS so i may not even get a card if they take it back.
Anyway I am glad they didn't try to shaft me.
SXZ: thanks for the pics.
UPDATE: wow that was fast, they agreed to give me a discount upon varifying the card is useable by me. if its DOA I can get a full refund or replacement.

I used powerstrip. just install and move the sliders up slowly till weird things start to happen IE: crashes or strange display anamolies. then back down the sliders. I run Futuremark05 to test the overclocks.
BTW this voids your lifetime warranty with BFG. and can possibly kill your card if done wrong.

So I got my card back. They sent me a 6800GTOC instead of a 6600GTOC. I'm not 100% happy since I lost the dual DVI and the component out. The 6800 has VGA, DVI and S-Video. Overall I guess I'm happy. :)

If anyone is still looking for one of these I just got a PM from Staples.ca for the AGP version against the $207 price on PCCyber.ca, bringing the after PM price to $197.70, added $3 worth of stuff and used the $30 off $200 coupon (60652) and there is a $40 Easy Rebate, making the after PM price $130 (excl taxes)
Something I don't understand about the Easy Rebate, since you don't have to send in the UPC barcode from the product package what is to stop you from mailing in the non-store specific PDF rebate form (http://pccyber.ca/product_pdfs/Channel6600GTFeb.pdf) from the PCCyber.ca site for another $40 back (besides being dishonest) or better yet the $70 rebate (http://www.futureshop.ca/Rebate/rebateform.asp?RebateID=2211410058989&logon=&langid=EN) Futureshop.ca currently has :P
BTW I could have tried to PM at FS.ca instead but I figured it would be less risky to combine a $30 coupon with a $40 rebate than rely on a $70 rebate.

I bought this card yesterday, Comin in the mail tommorow
Staples had to add 15 bucks to the price for cuz pccyber.ca doesn't mention any shipipng prices in their checkout cart.
After PM came to $214 for the card. Subtract a 20 off 200 coupon (I wish i saw that 30 off 200!) and the $40 rebate and the deal comes to 154.
I don't know why they marked this thread dead at least 3 days early?
aw well, rebate ends today so i guess now it really is officially dead, at least until 12 midnight!
If any1 still wants in on this deal buy now and take screenshots of pccyber's!!! assuming that should work...

yes, $15 flat rate added to total if no info on s/h is readily avail. on their website.
consider urself lucky as i'd suspect the s/h charges at pccyber might be >$15 and then that'd make the PM price "less attractive"...
btw, FYI, this was only $145 after MIR at logiccomputerhouse (http://logiccomputerhouse.com/site/main.php?module=detail&id=8517) (cash price)

Yeah, Got the card on the first and have been playing with it like crazy. lol.
I got it running about 55000 on Aquamark 3. Its a great card, however the temps seem to be getting a little high. (idle at 53ish, highest at 90 degress on full load.)
i think with better cooling I could clock this baby up over 600mhz and 1.2 gb mem.
yay =)
Thanks for your reply majong,
yeah i'll call them up tommorow and try to apply that cupon. also, the rebate on this card is now 50 dollars instead of 40.. i don't know. i think i may take it back and chance a PM at FS. that'd be a pretty nice deal with the $70 rebate.
also that website you mentioned is awesome. I'll be checking there more often now. =)

BTW...
I still don't understand why this thread is marked dead?!
its 190.00 at logiccomputerhouse.com for the PCE-E version SLI ready. At FS this card's priced at 319.99.
yeah there's no rebates, but that's still a good PM for a PCI-e card. even better if you can get them to match the cash price.
There's a rough 10% performance gain at least with this card VS the AGP version.
