Paid Silent_Storm $120 for this who advertized it as perfect working condition 9/10. Ripped me off it has a dead pixel and waves of light/lines that moves verticaly from the screen which is not noticeable on the first look. You can see it very clearly on boot where there is black background.
Dishonest and tricky!!! Cuts my PMs and phone calls, BEWARE!!!

Leave feedback for him on heatware and link this thread to his current threads (if any). Good luck with the sale, its a good price for a 15 incher. Might help if you post pics of exactly what the problem is.
Bump for a honest trader!

Oh yes - and a small video would help also...
Videos would show the damage nicely, since it's LCD NOT Crt...

Silent_Storm removed me from receiving PMs as of today, and phone calls are being ignored. There is no hope for resolution here thats why I relisted it to sell for less. I met him in the back door of his building so I cant even knock on his door nor know his buzz#.
I wanted a perfectly working LCD as a gift to my sister whos been requesting for it.
LCD is functional but you have to see the flaw for yourself cause a pic would not capture it. Dead pixel is at the right corner which is realy not a problem to me if it was indicated upon purchase.

We have a viewsonic VA520 15". It does the same thing, BUT only on bootup when Windows is NOT loaded. As soon as you load Windows, it works beautifully. So if these waves are the same as for us, then you will not notice them at all. We've been using it for years and it is a wonderful monitor.
As far as the dead pixel goes, one dead pixel would make it a waste for me. They irritate the hell out of me.

LOL! I would love to do that....but dont want the hassle, I have enough stress of my own. Its only money and its not like I lost my house or something, but just feels realy bad that someone played you as a fool. I dont want it to happen to someone else.
I have enough monitors in my house, this is just an unacceptable gift to my sister. You can watch a movie and pictures fine, but letters up close creates a distortion and dont think its good for your eyes.

i say report it to the mods too, if he advertised it as fully functioning then other redflaggers must know not to deal with him and the mods need to know this too. sorry to hear that, i would be so pissed. i say dont let it go, it may be just money but its about getting justice. redflags will back you up.

Honestly, this is what this thread is all about, its all about exposure so it does not happen to others. I do not want to pass on a malfuntioning unit, so once I found out he was not going to communicate this thread was started.
I took it as a loss loss situation, but lesson learned. You can take it for $90 but IMO, if there are internal problems its not going to last long, furthermore, as I mentioned It might not be good for your eyes if you are reading all the time. Atleast, you know what you are bargaining for.
From my understanding, he gets stuff from his room mate that works at a comp. store beside Factory direct @ Kennedy rd and sell it for more. Not a fact, but close enough.
Thanks for everyones support, remove him from your trading list, banning wont do much cause he will create a new user, so thats that......

That guy screwed me over on shipping too; bought a Shuffle for $110 ($100 plus shipping), and he didn't ship Xpress- I had someone in Montreal who wanted ot buy it from me. It didn't get there in time for his sister's birthday, so i was stuck with it. I fnally sold it after months for $70 last week. When i asked him why it hadn't arrived, he said something like, "I shipped it regular to save a few bucks. LOL."

i have my LCD 15" NEC for sale. perfect condition and $150.
good luck.
Hey dude, please show some respect.
Advertise your own LCD monitor in someone else's thread (that is selling a 15" LCD monitor) is just plain rude.

$60 is a pretty temping price - the specifics of what's wrong with it are a bit lost in the noise on this thread though, so questions:
-Dead pixels: how many and where/how annoying?
-Stuck pixels: how many and where/how annoying?
-Wave thing:
..Visible once the OS is loaded?
..How about at a dos prompt?
..While viewing full-screen video?
(I ask becasue it could be a refresh rate issue).
How bad is the ghosting on this thing?
If we could get a post just explaining the exacty details it will make it much easier for interested people (like me! :) ) to decide whether to make an offer or not.
Thanks!

Lots of interest but no one has come to physically look at it. I want to sell this local to avoid any problems.
-one dead pixel on right corner, not visible unless you look for it so its not annoying.
-waves are always there in constant motion (same speed all the time) moving up it seems ...but its seems to be moving up if your eyes follow the movement...its also depending in the background. Main thing to concern is ITS ALWAYS THERE.
See it before you buy!
I wanted to use this as a TV cause its excellent on video and cant see the waves at a distance but I need a vesa mount and need some wall mount speakers so just letting it go. Lots of pm and sent my address but none made to see it.

wavy thing happens on my HP also. But only a boot up. In windows, its fine. Occastionally, it'll happen on a black screen, but dissapates quickly. I think it may have something do with with an old backlight, but not sure. Doesn't bother me, as i use my 15" for TV thru a TV Tuner. So to all those who are considering this as a fixin' station, or a secondary monitor, grab it up. prolly wont bother you at all :)
