Who here uses Google Analytics? And what do you think of it?

About Google Analytics:
Google recently bought out Urchin (my favourite web stats program) and from it created Google Analytics. Unlike Urchin it's a free service for anyone with a gmail account.

You put javaScript code on your site pages and log on to Google to see the stats.

There was such a high demand for it that Google had to temporarily suspend new sign ups. If you were lucky enough to get an account the service is very slow (due to the demand) It provide info more from a marketing perspective then an informative perspective.

Never heard of it until now. Just took a look, and it looks amazing for anyone with a website.

Slow. I wish the Geo Map overlay would show more results in excel sheet (it almost drills down by city on the map, but I can not retrieve that data in tabular format).

I like the webmaster tools, esp the screen resolution stats (I know it is a js feature out there since at least 4-5 years but still-very useful feature)

I usually analyze my own raw logs by using 2 log analyzers.
Mach 5 (http://www.mach5.com/) and Clicktracks (http://www.clicktracks.com/).

It's not bad, for a free service.
I commend Google for providing another useful feature to us, at no charge

I was lucky to sign up and got it, and used it as well
I don't have that much traffic anyway

But I would be curious to see how it performs on a corporate website where traffic volume is MUCH higher, or how it compares with WebTrend

Would like to try out Google Analytics... awaiting the opening of sign-ups again.

Currently use www.StatCounter.com -- it's okay for a freebie. Limited info though.

Have used AwStats on another server before and it was really comprehensive - loved it. Not compatible with my current host though.

Many have said that they don't trust Google with so much information. They have access to your stats. They know everything that's happening on the net.

Some also predict that Google will push out a lot of competitors so there won't be much choice.

I use it for my site. It gets a meh, I'm just a tad impressed that all. I have better reporting thru some other site stats website.
