I am wondering how come you increased your price from $1100 to $1400? You should've at least mentioned somewhere that you're going to increase it. I was interested but not anymore.

Ya I wondered about that since he said it was 2,000.00 and he was going to sell for half price and than said 1,400.00???

Yeah. i apologize for the price correction. My friend said i was selling the ring for too low. With the current price of gold and the price of diamonds, the appriased value should be higher than my original cost.
I also forgot to mention that the band is platinum.

Arkansas is a state in the US.

LOL....I would say it was aggresively priced at $1100. I have been looking for one for a long time but with no success. Once they get one from Tiffany's there's no letting go.
Please reply PM when you can.

At Tiffany's they do not charge you extra for a platinum or gold band. The cost of the ring is based on the diamond. Hence if you get the identical diamond/stone, it is the same price regardless of the band (white/yellow gold or platinum).
in fact, Tiffany's will also change the metal setting for free of charge after you propose if the receiver doesn't like the type of precious metal chosen.
I guess there has to be some perks for the outragous prices you pay... ;)

If I were you, I would keep the ring for another year because the price of the diamond and platinum band would only go up by more than 25% per year so you would actually get your money back more to sell it next year. That's what I did with the ring I was going to give to my ex but we ended up breaking up before I gave it out.
I think you are selling your ring at a wrong place because people are RFD are looking for super cheap deals but nothing high-end like your TIffany ring.

"eray" please don't suspect because I won't take it lightly. Obviously I was upset that the price was changed without notice but I am not going to thread crap.
A diamond ring is much like a car you're going to lose it's value when you take it off the shelf. Try taking it to Cash Converters cause I can guarantee you'll have a heart attack by what they'll offer. Jeweler's roughly puts about 50-75% mark up on these rings. 50% if you're at a mom and pop store and 75% if you're at the mall. So I cannot see why Tiffany's won't put their margins in the same field. BTW did you guys know that Birks actually uses better diamonds for their highest price rings?
Back to the thread, the seller's price is fair for a Tiffany's ring. And I wish the best of luck finding a buyer.
And "lotion" why do you post the same things over and over again?

LOL...so much thread crapping going on here. INTERESTING!!! So did eray guess it right that it was Bat1983? Now I can see what he guessed it was Bat1983 because that person's join date is on the date that this thread started.
To answer Bat1983's post, I totally disagree with what you wrote. Diamonds isn't like cars because diamonds appreciate every year even it's not brand new. Everyone knows if you are buying Tiffany, you are paying for the brand. Well, that's why every girl wants a Tiffany diamond ring in the bluebox because it's prestigious. I am sure he will just keep the ring if he doesn't sell it now. No point and no rush to sell the ring. LOL...Birks? That's the OLD fashion brand for older people. NOT FOR MY AGE anyways. Besides, no girls ever dream of Birks.
FYI: Tiffany Setting platinum wedding band sells for $485 but the yellow gold band sells for $330

Honestly, you guys think I am thread crapping? I suppose me wishing the seller best of luck couple of times really gave it away. Guess I will just stay away from this thread.
Precious metals always have been rising but who are you going to sell it to? You have to have the market to dish out your product. So yes it will appreciate in market value but will depreciate in real value. Once again my 2 cents.

You aren't thread crapping? If you aren't buying the ring then just stay away and stop making stupid comments. If you honestly think Birks is better than Tiffany then go for Birks. You don't need to insult Tiffany rings here. My ex gf once told me that Tiffany diamond ring is a dream of all girls'. Then I guess your gf or who ever you are buying a ring for isn't getting the "bluebox". Besides, if Birks was that much better then why isn't it as popular as Tiffany? LOL
People on RFD just love thread crapping and make the stupiest comments in the world.
Coming from the same person who asks "what is Arkansas?" Don't feel like discussing anything so, if anybody has any comments please PM me.
Good luck!

Tiffany is highly overated. Drilled into young girl's heads. Been to the store, nothign special. I would rather get a diamond and gold/platnium ring from any trust worthy jewler as long as its' appraised and certified. The BLUE box means NOTHING.
When would ppl learn.

Isn't that true for almost all products that are currently on the market?
The blue box may mean nothing to YOU but it may mean alot to other people. it is not all about the box, it is the entire package that Tiffany offers, from the initial contact, final sale toafter sale. They offer great customer service and quality products. The extra you're paying is called the premium.
i would appreciate people to stop thread crapping with their own opinion about Tiffanys. If I wanted to discuss or debate about the pros and cons of owning a Tiffany ring, I would post a thread in Off-topic. I am just trying to sell a ring so I could get some extra money for this year's christmas.
I am rather surprised about people's reaction/hatred towards Tiffanys or even my ring since I'm looking at the price and it is not even close to being over-priced. I called Tiffany early in the morning and for a similar ring, it will cost you around $2200-2300 right now.
Thank you

wish I had the money to buy this ring off you. Nice ring.
Tiffany Rocks!
By the way, if the price ever drops, please let me know. $1400 is a good price but I just don't have that much cash on my hand.

I thinks Birks if fine........they are a Canadian company and actually have some pretty nice designs!
But Birks has one advantage that you can sell your jewelery on Consignment for no extra costs.
I doubt it would work for Tiffany's jewelery as they mostly sell Brand name watches and antique jewelery and non branded more xepensive pieces.
Birks also has Canadian diamonds, does Tiffany's have those?
Try selling your ring in the local paper that might work or on consignment somewhere else?

1. Birks diamonds are similarly priced as Tiffany's.
2. Tiffany's is 30% (not sure on the exact %) owned by Aber. 70% of Aber's best diamonds go to the Tiffany's. Aber uses Canadian diamonds. Aber also owns 100% of Harry Winston.
3. Lifetime cleaning of all jewelry bought at Tiffany's
4. If you are not happy with the size of your tiffany diamond purchase. They will give you 1 year to upgrade the diamond at the cost that you bought it for. Upon re-evaluation of the diamond from damage.
5. If you wanted to see a nice big diamond at Birks, they usually need to bring it in and do not have any sitting at the store. Tiffany's has assortments for you to chose.
So out of all that, we atleast know that Tiffany diamonds are TOP notch.
Some people that all diamonds are a like.. that is not the case.

YUP...this guy knows how good a Tiffany diamond is and how good of after sale service that Tiffany provides.
It costs my mom $50 every year to clean her diamond ring!!! She gets the ring polished once every 3 years, it costs her more than $100 to do that. So that's why I said $1400 for a diamond ring from Tiffany isn't bad at all since for the same thing is selling for $2200 to $2300 now at Tiffany.

Tiffany's will authenticate anything tiffany and provide a real appriasel for free. We had appriasels done on all our tiffany rings (4) we bought including the engagement ring which i purchased at tiffany in manhattan and had appraised at tiffany toronto for free. they even mailed me the leather bound appraisel for the engagement ring. even if there's a charge for having them appraise a diamond, thats money well spent.
bump for tiffany's!

Is it true that diamonds aren't any rarer then other precious stones but because 1 central company owns all the world's diamond mines they can charge whatever they want?
I just heard this somewhere, but it sounds like an urban myth, at least to a degree as monopolization is nothing new.

If you are talking about their WEDDING BANDS, yes Tiffany's does charge a difference... given that wedding bands are cheaper to begin with.
But when you get into their ENGAGEMENT rings, their price is equivalent (regardless of whether it's platinum or not).
In fact, Tiffany allows the buyer to buy the ring, and if the to-be-fiance refuses the ring, it's fully refundable. Furthermore, if she doesn't like the setting (you choose gold and she wants platinum), Tiffany's will replace the settting free of cost (given it's within a fairly reasonable time).
They also do free cleanings for life .
