i need this movie for a project i am doing so i need to save it on my harddrive and burn it on dvd but i can not seem to get this movie to save http://archives.cbc.ca/IDC-1-71-1290-7532/conflict_war/blue_berets/clip9
any help would be greatly appreciated thanks

Use a download manager and add this url:

or put that url into windows media player and click file->save media as

Paste this into your browser and then when Windows Media Player pops up let it load the whole video then go to File->Save As.
It should work. I didn't wait for the whole video to download though.

Or you just just save target using that url now. ;)
No need to add it from the media player.

when i try saving it, it only saves the shortcut to the movie not the actual movie

Oh yeah it looks protected by some sort of Microsoft streaming server. To get around that i used to have a program called hoonet or something i dunno it takes the stream and tries to write it as a file. I dont have it anymore nor do i know where to get it but there are programs out there to circumvent this if you look hard enough. I don't recommend it though because you don't know which are legit and which are viruses. also i dont think its legal to circumvent this protection.
