Just curious...

When they count the dead/injured, what is considered "injured"? I'm guessing their must be tens of thousands of marines injured. Minor, major? Don't know how they classify it. But i'm guessing most of the injured have missing limbs? Can't walk? Disabled in some way? Do they count "broken bone" that heals after, as an injury?

I always assumed that the public doesn't know what REAL injuries are classified as..............................

An injury means that they are unable to go to work the next day, basically. It doesn't mean that they're maimed or dying.. just that they need to go inactive for any length of time. Could be a sprained ankle.. could be a leg that needs to be removed.. whatever.

Just as an athlete can be taken off the active roster, a soldier can too. They can fall ill to desert flu or whatever. As long as they incur the "injury" while on duty, it gets tallied.
