What's the reasoning behind this? I noticed people are selling new items but say they do not have receipts. Why? I"m inclined to think the merchandise was stolen.

Any other explanations for this?

Won in a contest? Mailed from a relative as a gift? Bought at an awesome deal and trying to sell for a profit? There are tons of valid reasons.

What if they have multiples of the item and the merchandise was released fairly recently?

why don't you ask the seller directly? Anyone else would just be speculating, at best

Why do you not just cut to the chase and say you think people here are selling stolen stuff? Unfortunately without proof, whether it is stolen or not is irrelevant.

I do think something is off kilter, but the sale is not happening here.

It's christmas and no one likes to be screwed. Just being cautious.

Could be true.

Also maybe they bought it, mailed away for a rebate (which requires mailing away the receipt,) and sold it for a small profit.
