Brought my car into an independent shop for alignment, oil change, coolant flush and transmission service. I noticed today that the transmission now slips when I brake or slow down and then step on the gas. I suspect that the tranny fluid is low. The car ran great before the service.

This is what happens when you try to save a few $ :(

I am beyond pissed that the shop did not perform the service correctly. I am going to call them tomorrow and complain. Hopefully too much damage wasn't done.

Are these proper grounds to do a visa charge back? Seeing as the service was not completed properly and probalby damaged my transmission :(

furthermore if there is any damage done I will be taking them to small claims court and destroying any credibility as a reputable shop that they may have.

Nope, visa does not provide charge backs for poor service. They only do charge backs if the charge was unauthorized or if the goods/service was not provided at all. If you are unhappy about the quality of service provided, you need to contact the business directly for compensation. If they are not helpful, you can try the better business bureau, they'll help file a claim on your behalf.

This is really a dispute between you and the shop it has nothing to do with the the credit card company.

It is not worth filling a claim with the small claims court neither.

Just as a heads up - if your transmission was flushed you could have gotten rid of the buildup inside, which was stopping the poor shifting. It's common when an older vehicle that does not see regular maintenance get their tranny flushed.

The vechile is only 5 years old with 109k. Had transmission service done at 60k

This is a funny rant.

It's like ordering a steak med rare but getting well done but before I work it out with the waiter I sue them.

Dude, give the mechanic a chance address your issue with the tranny or his work.

Well why don't you actually check the tranny fluid to see if it's low or not before you go running back to the shop?
