not much of a deal if i need to prove that I do something I really don't.

Here's another hot deal, you can get 50% off all clothing if you work at Holt Renfrew. You will need to be on an actual shift in the actual store to get this offer so, job applications can be downloaded at www.removethisthread.com.
- Cheers.

True, but there might be RFDers that are health care workers that this applies to. People that work for any hospital, private practices, labs, community health, etc. Chances are you know someone who could benefit from this.
Besides, half the stuff posted in here doesn't apply to me since I don't live in the GTA. I did indicate it was for health care workers in the title.

It sounds a little different from what I've been told. When I signed up, the voice mail is included but weeknights (6pm-8pm) is additional $5. At least that's what the ad and my online detail says. As well, it includes detailed billing. I think you can sign up with this with only 24month contract.
If you're in UHN, there's an ad on the UHN Intranet.

HOT DEAL! That is the plan I have... I believe it is 18 for eve&week @ 8 and extra 5 to start @ 6. Corporate long distance too, 10c, rounded to nearest 1/2 min. My friend also got this deal even though he isn't a health employee, you just have to find a store that will call corporate activations to activate for you. It might be hard and a pain in the ass to do though.
I believe you also need a minimum of 2yr contract, so you might as well sign a 3 yr and get a cheap phone... either sell it or use it. I hate contracts but for $23 a month, I doubt I will find a better plan anytime soon.
*Voice Mail is suppose to be included, but for some reason I don't have it and regular customer care won't give it to me! I have to talk to my dealer again.

Hmm, I currently have $35/mo family plan. This sounds better as it includes evening option or voicemail free.
A few questions:
> Is the voicemail offer permanent? I.e. Hopefully, it's not just some kind of "2 months and then we'll charge you" thing.
> Is there any expiry on this?
> I'm currently ending year 1 of 3-year contract. Can I just sign up for a new 3-year deal without any penalties?
> Can the 200 minutes be shared between mutliple phones under this plan?
Also, I might as well combine this with Eastlink 15% off Rogers bill offer!! :D
Thanks!

I signed up for this plan in September, for $23 got 200, eves/wkds after 6pm-8am, CID, VM, detailed billing, per-second billing, and discount LD. The only option I was told existed, by Rogers Corporate Department, was that I could take off the evenings and it would be $5 less. They said I didnt need to sign a contract but i signed a 3 year since Radioshack had a promotion to get a free phone and free bluetooth headset. Its a great plan and customer service is excellent becuase I can call Rogers Corporate Department, where service is much quicker.

With regards to the 5 ppl on the account question - the former plan I had was the family/couples plan. I was the main account holder so the sales rep was able to change both phone plans to the $18 one even though the other phone was in my husband's name. Then he told me that I could add up to three other people onto my account and they would all get the same $18 rate.
A Rogers representative would probably have a better answer - sorry!

Well, I work in Public Health sector and I just asked Rogers Corporate Department. The response is that currently there is no $18 plan. The cheapest plan with unlimited evening starting at 6pm is a $25 plan, which is essentially the $20 plan + $5 charge to make it starting at 6pm.
Note that this so called $25 plan is applicable to all public sector employees, not just Health Care Workers.
The $18 plan may indeed existed and it is now expired.
If anyone find something different. Please let me know and I would like to get more info from you.

don't see how this is hot since I got the following from a rogers dealer (corporate deal).. actually u can just tell them u work for a major corporation, they don't check
250min, free weekends/nights, voice mail, caller id for 20$
its a 2yr contract, and 3 months unlimited and u get 100$ off phone so my v3 razr was only 50$.
for 5$ more u can get early nights (from 6pm)
ppl should try contacting rogers dealers direct, ask for corporate rate/plans etc.

Nah, it's definitely not expired. I had our Rogers rep @ my hospital just a few days ago and he is still taking orders for the $18 plan. For several years now we've enjoyed corporate rates through Rogers, always around the $18-20 range, so this is nothing new. It changes slightly from time to time, like 50 more mins, or free voicemail etc.

The health care worker plan is slightly different. We've never had to sign up for any contract unless we chose to purchase a phone at a reduced rate at the same time. I and many co-workers have always paid just the monthly rate, using our own cell phones.

well... what new policies say are new activations only
therefore contract
contract is much safer for these types of plans anyways
roger's could at anytime, take away these plans... and if you aren't on contract, you risk the chance of losing your price plan

I think you're talking nonsense on this one... Again not true. I have the flyer from work in front of me. Regardless of whether it is a new activation or someone who is an employee and simply wants to switch to the corporate plan, there is NO contract required unless you want to include a phone at a reduced rate. You even have the choice of 2 or 3 year terms depending on what amount you wish to spend on the phone. One thing they've included this year is a hardware renewal plan, giving those who agree with the 3 year contract a FREE upgrade to a new phone each year of the contract. I had several of my coworkers already trade up at no cost.
I'd say the risk of losing a corporate rate is next to nil. I've been on the same corporate plan for over 4 years, and know people who have been on even longer.

Is this not the same as the Corp plan? This is the plan I am on. Not sure if I got it through Corp or health care special about 2.5 years ago.
Check if they put you in Teir-A(or 1 forget which). If they do you can upgrade your phone ever like 12 months. Although you have to sign another contract. And you get a discount on the phones even MORE then a normal 3 year contract. The Rogers store needs to call Rogers and ask what your price is. The computer does not have it from what I have been told.

Rogers doesn't know what they are doing - I work for Mount Sinai & they were in the hospital last week. I missed out on the deal & tried calling Rogers directly to get the deal.
They told me I qualified & it would be no problem, just go to a booth to show my employee ID - went to booth & they had no clue.
Called Rogers back & ultimately they said they had no idea what I was talking about and wouldn't give me the deal (after being on hold for 20 minutes). These guys have no idea what they are doing.

did you ask the sales rep or call rogers that you want the health care plan?? cuz it does exist.. i just currently signed up for one.. but the plan is really $18 for 200 min, unlimted weekends, caller id, voice mail, per second billing - after first minute, and $35 activiation fee waived. For an extra $5 (ie: $23) you also get unlimited evneings starting at 6pm.

You should have gone to a dealer with a clue. Or called Rogers and asked for someone who could actually help you. They do a good job helping thousands of others.
That said, go to the HowardForums.com Rogers' forum, and look up Rogers people who can tell you where to go/who to call.
It is possible you went to a dealer who wanted to make their quota of regular plans, and therefore didn't call Rogers to set you up properly. It's really not this hard when you qualify.

don't think there is any catches cuz i just signed up for one under my sister, she works at St. Joe's hospital and apparently the person who works for a hospital is allowed 5 people under their name is each person can be individually billed. Good plan i would say. What the sales rep did for us is that all they needed was my sister's employee number so they can do a credit check (i guess just to make sure she works at a hospital) and ya, i got the plan!! And was able to pick up a new phone at a decent price.
So far no catches.

Rogers CS has no clue when it comes to corp plans. I signed up for a corp plan on a new contract this past summer. (19 Bucks a month, 200 Daytime, Unlimited Evenings (after 6), Unlimited Weekends,Free CID, Free Voice Mail, Corp LD, no System Access Fee). I then called rogers to have my other two phones switched to this new plan. It took me 3 billing cycles before they got it right, and about 10 phone calls to CS. It was a pain to get it all set up, but it's totally worth it since I now have 3 phones for about the price I was paying for one on my old plan :cheesygri
The best advice I can give is be persistant, and if there is a rogers dealer who is promoting the plan, try to have them handle everything for you, it makes life much easier

Give Rogers a call and they can tell you what you're elibigle for depending on where you work.
I have a government deal currently, which apparently I will only be able to renew once more to get a hardware upgrade, as they no longer offer it. But most of the time, Rogers stores will tell you that they can't offer that deal, that you have to go through the 3rd party company offering it. That is how it was for me. I went through another company altogether, that set it up through Rogers Corporate division. My sister had this $18 deal as an Educational Assistant, but they told her she is not supposed to have it either, that that rate was for phones, owned by the board, and for their employees strict work related usage, but they let her keep it anyhow!

Yes, Rogers frustrates me all the time... I can't get the RAZR until August, and then that will be the last hardware upgrade I can do. I can't upgrade my fiancee's phone, unless I change her plan to a new price plan, as our corporate 25 plan, no longer exists. So, I asked them, are there any other corporate plans that I qualify for, and they said they didn't know...
I am happy with my signal however, always clear and always there... So, once I get my RAZR in August, that will be it for me, and I will go month to month after my 3 year term... which even though my plan does not exist, I can still keep my low rate... That company needs to get their head on straight. I am sure that come August, they will tell me that I can't upgrade my phone without changing my plan, but when I talked to the CSR, I had them note on my account that I infact could upgrade one last time on this plan without changing the price.

[okay, nevermind, after reading whole thread, $18 does not include unlimited evenings
i am on the $18 plan but they are not offering me unlimited nights at all for that price. is this right or can i keep trying with different CSRs.
i can add $5 for unlimited evenings starting at 6pm, there is no such thing as unlimited evenings starting at 8pm for this plan from what i was told.

Just wondering if this includes the access fee? Also has anyone been able to switch their current plan to this plan? If so, how did you do it? Thanks.

This plan is not just for health care workers. Two other groups eligible that I know of are Ontario Power Generation employees and U of T Denstistry students.
Complete plan details:
plan #1: $18/month:
200 weekday / weeknight minutes
unltd weekends (fri 8pm - mon 8am)
free voicemail
free call display
10 cent canadian long distance
per second billing (after 1st minute)
detailed billing
free received text messages
plan #2: $23/month:
200 weekday / weeknight minutes
unltd weekends (fri 8pm - mon 8am)
unltd weeknights (6pm - 8am)
free voicemail
free call display
10 cent canadian long distance
per second billing (after 1st minute)
detailed billing
free received text messages
The above prices do not include $6.95 system access fee, $0.50 911 fee, or applicable taxes.
I was able to switch my then-current plan onto this plan (back in June of last year). I did it through Rogers Customer Relations, as they were the only ones who could find the corporate plan I was referring to (after speaking to Customer Service a few times with no success). While I signed a contract (to get a phone for cheap), there was no need to do so.
Before someone asks, the Customer Relations department at Rogers is different from Customer Service. I find they were much nicer to me on the phone, more polite, and got stuff done. I can't remember the number off the top of my head, but it's listed at howardforums.

For those of you that are on the corporate plan, is it a Type A or Type B? Reason asking is that with a type A plan, you get $150 credit to apply for a new phone every 12 months, whereas for Type B, it's $75 credit every 18 months.

How does Rogers determine if I am Tier A or B? Is it based on my personal account or based on the company that I work for and the corp. contract they have with them?
Do I just tell the rep to put me as Tier A?

Okay, i have been reading all of these threads and i want to clearify this to Everyone.
The $18/23 plans are available to almost anyone.
Students (University or College)/Teachers/Postal Workers/Health Care Workers (any and all departments)/Real Estate Workers.
Also, if you have job, you can probably get this.
the Actual plan is as follows:
$18/month
200 daytime minutes
Unlimited Weekends (from Midnight Friday to 7am Monday)
Call display
Basic Voicemail
Per Second Billing (after the first 60 seconds)
Also includes:
- Call waiting
- Group Calling
- Call Forwarding
- Busy/No Answer Transfer
- Unlimited incoming text messages free (up to 2500 received).
- 10 cents long distance in Canada
- 15 cents long distance to the U.S
Please Note, you need to add $5/month to get unlimited Evenings from 6pm.
So for $23/month, you get everything above PLUS
Unlimited Eveneing from 6pm - 8am
and you unlimited weekends changes to 6pm friday to 8am monday.
After the system access fee and the 911 emergency fee and tax, your
bill will come out to $35.02 (this is including all those "hidden" charges that people always complain about.)

There are two ways you can get this.
1 - wait till your school has their "school week" where different complanies come and offer you a lot of cool deals.
2 - get intouch with my buddy - district sales manager - he'll get it for you.
What school do you go to?
You need to show student I.D.
And i have this plan.

You must be really stupid if you think someone in the healthcare field will give out copies of professional accreditation and/or identification.

I just phoned up HUP and was told that I am tier A.
The csr offered me the sony ericsson W600 for $50, on a three year contract. When I asked them if I want to end the contract before three years the csr did'nt know how much it would cost. Does anyone else know?
Also If I am Tier A this year, when I phone to upgrade next year, will I still be tier A or does this change year to year?

I called Rogers today, and was told about the plan available for employees at my hospital (London Health Sciences Centre). It wasn't as good as the one posted in the original message. In particular, it's $20 instead of $18, and there is no caller ID included (instead, it costs an extra $5). Maybe it depends on the hospital you work at?

Just a question but did you have a e corporate plan in which you were not an employee of?
I know Rogers a specific team that weeds out dealers giving out corporate plans and revokes thier licence...the bad part is customer not in the know gets shifted to a regular plan.
