Anyone know where in the GTA to buy a power supply for USB devices? Basically it just provides the power to any USB device you plug in, so you can charge an Ipod, cell phone or whatever.
Source / Radio Shack has them for $29.95 which is a rip off IMO. Apple also sells them for the same price. But on Ebay you can get them for under $5. Just wondering if anyone has seen cheap generic ones in a store?

I've been to many computer stores and they don't have one, only RS did.
Ipod Nano doesn't come with a charger - you can only charge it by connecting to a PC, which is a problem when traveling.

Exactly why i had second thoughts about the ipod. none of hte ipods now come with a charger, even the ipod video. payin 400 dollars for an Ipod i would expect it to come with a charger.

Find a friend with some basics electronics knowledge and get them to build one of these for you:

Just remember to check the final voltage output, heh
I think the parts came to about $10 or so.
Theres other guides out there too, just google stuff like "DIY usb charger" and whatnot. But yah perfect for me as a Shuffle owner.

you could buy a cheap powered usb hub(could be usb1.1 doesnt matter since it wont be hooked to your computer) just plug it into the wall and plug your ipod into the hub, you could charge another 3 devices too.

Thanks for all the replies.
Ended up buying a powered hub for $15.
Strange that nobody in toronto sells those adapters like the pic posted above.

I believe TigerDirect sells those in their stores. Otherwise, they're all over eBay, Internet, Amazon, etc.
