My Dell 600m started acting werid couple days ago. When I turned it on, it took significantly longer to boot up and when I got into windows, everything was really slow. I went into the systems properties and saw the computer running at 221MHz. It won't go up regardless of what I did and was running on AC.
I've been finding this speedstep technology to be kind of werid and annoying. It doesn't seem to run very effectively and would be slow when I don't care about power consumption. Is there anyway to run at 1.6GHz max constantly if I'm plugged in? And is there anything for me to use to configure how it steps down to lower speeds when running on battery? The software that came with Dell seems very useless.
Btw, I have a Dell 600m with Pentium M 1.6 Dothan.
