Today and tomorrow only. Looks like a good price for a true HDTV Plasma panel. And the panel looks sleek too. Its a commercial plasma so no speakers or stand or TV tuner.

This panel supports 720p/1080i but it's not true HD since it's resolution falls short of the required 1280x720 pixels for 720p (the image will be downconverted to fit the display).

All 42" plasma HDTV are 1024x768, so not true HD and I doubt this is actually 1024x1024, but maybe if it's a commercial model.
Until afforable models come out in 1920x1080, we are stuck with some scaling. Acutally even the EDTV plasma look amazing in HDTV.
The real question is...
Is it an good as a panny?

Thanks for correcting. I guess its not a true HDTV then...knew it was too good to be true! Damn sleek design though, but then again I like the simple and sleek designs of pretty much all commercial plasmas like samsung, pannasonic and NEC.

It uses an 'ALiS' panel, which as best as I could find out and make sense of, uses phosphor 'strips' and supposedly a kind of pseudo-interlacing to achieve 1024 vertical resolution. Many videophiles aren't big fans of this type of panel. I haven't seen one, myself. I was under the impression that no one was making ALiS panels any more... The Hitachi specs don't seem to quote any contrast figures either, which makes me wonder if this is an older type of panel. That said, it sounds like a pretty good deal if it visually looks comparable to other modern plasmas...
