Just so you guys know,

That is 2x200GB seagate drives. I believe Canada computers came to about 1250. I am willing to spend <1300 :)

you should probably get the 3800 instead and spend the extra money on a video card like a 6600GT or a 6800GS

You should think about Infonec. They have comparable prices as Canada Computers. Their website is www.infonec.com

pc metro just down the street (www.pcmetro.ca price often cheaper in store) (down from CC on college close to spadina) across the road from the factory direct store. They usually beat all the shops by $5-$40 depending on item or so and seem to always have stock. If you buy a system they will knock money off the top too. Seriously though look at NCIX ($5.99 shipping right now) i got my system shipped to me in in 3 days at that rate (to toronto). Just get everything off of the sale page then take off half the tax (like $100 in your case) voila virtually unbeatable.

note** get the 3800+ and something like an x800xl you wont regret it especially as with $50-$80 heatsink you can overclock to 4600+ speeds easily.

For those of you laughing at video card give me a break.

If i wanted to use this machine for gaming i would spend 300 and buy two SLI video cards. The only reason this machine has any video card at all is so that my remote control software has a video display to attach to.

This machine will sit next to my X2 3800 which also has a $50 card and the two p4 3.4 650 system which also have $50 cards ;)

The machine encodes video which really had nothing to do with the video card at all ;)

Thanks a lot for the OC suggestion! I think i want to play around with the X2 3800 i have here but i havent OC'd a computer in about 5 years :0

I find NCIX to be more expensive by about 7-10% generally and wont order from them any longer, i tried ordering two machines and it was a nightmare. 1 week later of having to swap parts here and there i said screw it and bought the machines from NCIX

I have a x2 system with a x300se video card.

I don't play any video games, so like yourself, I saw no need to spend the money on an expensive video card.

Overclocking is luck of the draw, and depending on how far you want to go, you can go without an expensive heatsink. I am running 2.5Ghz on the stock one.
