I get a tiny, tiny break from my crazy hectic schedule. People also tend to be nicer when they're in the Christmas spriit... you get to see the better side of humanity.

Geez youre quick LOL, Didnt even post the poll yet and you replied

Anyways, forgot to mention my fav. thing, which is the Eve of Christmas. I dont know what it is, I seem to always enjoy the 24th much more than the 25th. Maybe it has to do with the fact that I dont have all my lost relatives over who I see every 5yrs and they pretend like they are delighted to see me  So delighted to be there, that they show up an hour late and take off right after they finish eating. Last year, one of my cousins took off early to a club LOL, on Christmas! Now that is something!

24th to me has a lot of build up, and I think that's what makes it so exciting. Some people still work till 5pm or so, especially the retail people. Places are putting the final finishing touches on things and just about to call it the year. I love it - for me its always nice and quiet, spend time with the inner family and in laws. Then on the 25th, its all hell broke loose with the relatives.

And of course, helping out the less fortunate. I always volunteer for a couple days, in the week of Christmas.

lol
think of the teachers..

what do they have to do during their christmas break.. mark school exams over the 1-2 weeks off.. while we have our two weeks off of fun!

I love christmas season.. more stuff to get, more stuff to buy that are part of christmas, malls are more packed with shoppers, longer store hours... witch i like cuz I can run out at like 10 pm on saturday to pick up something or just just walk around. Iike christmas eve also get so exciting knowing you get the open presents the next day. putting up the christmas tree, and lights, watching for the first day of snow. candie canes.. hehe yummy, people are more likley to help you out of their way. easier returns on anything you bought.

Christmas lost meaning and worth years ago for me. Its now nothing more than a way for big corporations to scam money off of people. The meaning the holiday was lost back decades before I was even born. Sure I love giving stuff, and I'd be lying if I said I didn't like getting stuff, but its nothing more than a meaningless reason to get presents these days.

Congratulations earth on bastardizing Christs birthday

I guess since my family is pretty close, for me it's just the feeling of this time of year...makes you feel good...just something i've always felt going back to my childhood.

i feel bad for the guys who chose "Christmas is overrated, too stressful and overhyped"...

they must live very sad lives.

thats because it is - its too commercial and not what it used to be. Plus, some people just like a quiet christmas that is simple and relaxing.

I like getting to hang out with the family, I have 4-5 cousins all my age and we have a blast every year digging into the liquor cabinet

oh blah blah...

then ignore the commercialism and celebrate it for the reasons YOU think it is important...

is spending quality time with family commercial?

LOL. I love how there is no mention of Jesus...the real reason for why we celebrate Christimas!

Anyways, I'm an Atheist so celebrating Christmas is all about spending time with family and friends and seeing the smiles on my daughter's face!!

All the best to everyone this year...even Jesus!!

Actually my life is just fine, thank you :) The ones who live sad lives are those who are controlled by the world. Who needs to be told when to be jolly and giving... or when to spend time with friends and family... or when to be nice to people... or when to buy gifts for loved ones... I enjoy doing those things all year, because I want too, not because "it's the season" :) :) :)

Another vote for spending time with family.

I know a lot of people complain about family during the holidays but we get along great in mine so it's fun. That plus two weeks off work with nothing to do but eat, sleep and relax. :)

Only five weeks away! yay!

No skool. Of course that won't apply in a couple of years...unless I pursue further edumacation...

Have not participated in gift giving/getting in a looooooooong time..can't remember the last time it happened.
Snow sucks...shoveling a large driveway is NOT kool.
Not quite sure if I've ever had eggnog..looks funky
Christmas music is pretty good stuff...Trans-Siberian Orchestra!
Shopping's only good for deals...Lindor chocolate
Don't particularly care for New Years either...nothing special except fireworks on teevee

I've not really done much during the Christmas break the last few years...have gone over to family friends' probably because they feel sorry for me being all alone :cheesygri
Don't think I'll ever really celebrate Christmas until I have(if) kids. Or at least someone intimate in me life that does.

Hey here4yagurlz, you forgot to include my favourite part of Christmas holidays, and something that should have been really obvious:

Boxing Day Sales!!!

Man, I can't believe no one else even mentioned this. You guys aren't true RFDers!
