Well today, I finally did it. :cheesygri I broke my Palm Zire 72 >:( I had it in a soft case in my pocket and I kinda ran into a desk and heard a CRACK. I though I broke my hip bone thing, but no, it had to be my Palm. I bought it at Staples in March of 2005 (this year), but with it I gout the extra 1 year+screen protection. THANK GOD for Staples employees pushing it! So I guess the one year isn't up, but what do I have to loose? Do you think I can go into Staples and ask for a replacement? Or would I have to get a store credit, and pick a new one? Doesnt matter to me, as long as I have a Palm by tomorrow, or Monday. Last question. I really want the new PalmXT as seen here: http://www.canadacomputers.com/index.php?do=ShowProduct&cmd=pd&pid=008543&cid=HH But according to the Staples site: http://www.staples.ca/ENG/Catalog/cat_class.asp?CatIds=89,310&name=CA%5FCL%5FPalm%2DPowered+OS they don't carry it. Does anyone know if they do? And can I price match CC with Staples, even if its on a warranty return? I have to do it the RFD way!

You're pushing your luck there. I'd make sure that the extended warranty covers accidents caused by you and not as a result of a manufacture defect.

You can definitely try to ask for a replacement, but the wording there makes me tend to believe they'll try to repair it instead.

did you buy it with "a PDA Accessory Kit"?

Yeah. Good luck with that. They promised me an over the counter replacement for manufacturers defects with my Palm three years ago. When I had a problem, they said it wasn't their problem, call the 800 number.

I called the 1800 number and stared a war with the rep. After 30min, of repeating, yelling, and totally letting it all out, I got a case number, and a new palm within 2-4 weeks.
