Is it anything like renting out sleezy motel rooms by the hour?

I'm sure you can do THAT downtown.

I rented a cargo van for 4 hours once (was a promo thing from Discount). I needed it to move some large items from my apt to a storage unit, and 4 hours was more than enough time for me.

I was under the impression that the same deal would've applied to passenger vehicles too. Beyond 4 hrs, I was told I'd be charged the full day rate.

You can ask for a 1/2 day rate. but they are usually only 20% cheaper than a full day rate.

I'm pretty sure you can rent trucks and vans from home depot and Rona, by the hour.

There was one that rented the room by 20 minute time slots close to where I used to live - everytime I drove by at night I just had to check if the car of my buddy was in the parking lot or not. :D
