View Full Version : Which brand of jeans do you wear?

Which brand of jeans do you wear? Guess & BR for me. (I wonder what happened to my AE jeans...)
I probably missed a few and this poll is probably not the best poll around. You can have multiple brands of jeans lying around. So I guess that the question really should be, what is your FAVOURITE brand of jeans to wear?

Where's the option for "The cheapest pair I can find"? That'd get the most votes for sure.

My jean collection.
5 pairs of 7's
2 pairs of energie's
2 pairs of Nudie's
2 Pair of True Religion's
1 pair of Diesel's
1 pair of Da'Mage's
1 pair of Antik's
1 pair of J.Lindeberg
1 pair of Chip and Pepper's
1 pair of Zegna's
and I have a few pairs of crap jeans.. I don't wear my 7's at all anymore, I find the wayy to played out. Pretty much these days I only wear Nudies (2 pairs of Regular Ralph Dry Selvage) and True Religion jeans (Joey Destroyed, and Joey Super Destroyed), I use my Diesels (Clerby 82L) every now and then since they are really really confortable. And I bought a pair of Antiks a few weeks ago which I love.
These days, I like jeans that are real low, and real destroyed, and look very different. Thats pretty much why I wear my Nudies (pretty much every day). I like the idea of Selvage denim, and "creating" your own jean.
Right now, i'm waiting for the mens Victoria Beckham's Rock & Republic jeans, and I'm eyeing a pair of Levis Vintage orange Tabs I saw at Holt Renfrew.

well, i don't know what you consider modterately priced. But you can get a pair of veggy indigo regular ralph Nudie jeans for 199, and Slim Jims are like 175, Thin Finns are 185, and so are Super Slim Kim. Cruel Angel, I remember reading in another thread that you're only in your 20's. If you have that much money to spend on jeans at that age, then kudos to you. Most of my friends in their 20's (fellow med students) can hardly afford $50 for a pair of jeans. I can't imagine how much money you must make to be able to spend that much money on clothes.

Take for instance a pair of Diesel Zathan 772's, they retail for 325 CDN. They are hand made in Italy. Production costs in Italy are much higher than say the made in china ones that you’d get at bluenotes. The 772 wash takes 6 weeks do produce, the denim is from top mills. Diesel only uses denim from Scotland, Italy or Japan. Also take a look at the detail of these jeans, they are Diesel's number 1 selling jean for a reason. Also, a bit of cost is added in customs, cause I know Diesel in the states is cheaper than diesel here. Diesel also produced a denim was called the 82L which used Japanese stretch denim, and it took 6 months to produce the wash, these jeans were the Clerby 82L and were only sold for the fall 2004 season, and are still one of the most sought after diesel jeans at a $400 retail. Also, as well as most top end denim lines, the companies that produce these jeans are environmentally friendly. There is no 3rd world labor that goes into most top end denim lines, your paying a higher production, and getting a better quality product. Above and beyond all of this, go out and try on a nice pair of jeans. You know there will always be people who are comfortable with what they have, and what they know. Some people don't see the value in a pair of jeans, and nobody is required to do so. Just keep an open mind to people who do appreciate this stuff, rather than ridicule them.

I mentioned before, if you look at the Nudie dry denim collection, they arn't as expensive as the dry selvage ones, and will produce the same effect. Your still looking to spend just about 200 bucks though, your out in van.. I can't really help you too much, i'm sure however you'll be able to find some shops carrying Nudie jeans, you can also try APC. Holts carries some Nudies, and they do have the Nudie regular ralph veggy indigo selling for 199.

I only wear diesel jeans, and I agree that they are well worth the money (not in canada though, you have to buy from the states/Ebay). For the past three years I've been looking for jeans that fit me well. I've gone bought 5 or 6 jeans (low-cost) jeans, and it just never felt right. I ended up never wearing it. I finally gave in, and bought a pair of Diesels (zafs).. and I never looked back since. I mostly wear Zathans now, and I find them quite nice.
Go to a diesel store in NY. You'll find about 15 or so different cuts, and each cut will have 5 or so different washes with it. It's pretty damn crazy.
Now, I haven't given up on finding cheap jeans. a Little while ago, I wore my zathans to a bunch of clothing stores, and I asked the clerk to find me a cheaper pair of jeans that fit me like my zathans. I couldn't find any. The Gap low-rise skinny fit bootcuts didn't feel as nice, have much of a bootcut nor fit as well. And Guess has some pretty gawdy washes.
The closest thing are levi's skinner jeans. Although, they are not avaiable in Canada, and almost cost as much as zathans.
For me at least, there is a difference between cheaper jeans and diesel.
Also, you have to consider the body type you have... you can definitely see a difference in a good fitting pair of jeans on a thin-body type than a large body type.
take care.
You know there will always be people who are comfortable with what they have, and what they know. Some people don't see the value in a pair of jeans, and nobody is required to do so. Just keep an open mind to people who do appreciate this stuff, rather than ridicule them.
