Does anyone know which cell provider has the best USA plan?
I will be working in Florida for 3 months and likely will need a cell phone, activated here, used on the way down, and then used while I am in Florida.
Thanks in advance...Glenn

Probably prepaid?
Virgin?
HoFo might have more answers, but obviously you aren't gonna sign up 1-yr contract (which are where the deals are)

Same situation here.
My wife is going to have a project in Washington DC for 3-4 months.
She is currently with Canada Virgin pre-paid plan, which cann't make/receive any calls in USA.
Is there any good prepaid phone & plan deal in USA now?
Thanks

Get an unlocked GSM phone and just buy a prepaid SIM when you cross the border, or get one on EBAY. You can probably get an unlocked phone cheap in BST. Unlocked Nokia 1600 were going for around $30 because of the 7-11 deal.
T-mobile or AT&T are common on EBAY. I have gotten SIMs with $30 activation credit for about $10 including shipping. From there, you can just add money to the card on their website or buy top-up cards for the phone most stores. You'll be paying through the nose if you get a Canadian carrier and pay their roaming charges.
US SIMS start working before you cross the US border at Niagara falls and are good nationwide at the same rate with no roaming charges. Long distance charges apply if you call Canada.
If you get $100 prepaid with T-mobile and AT&T, your number and credits are good for a year.
I believe with AT&T, you can choose to pay $1 a day and get unlimited within network calling and 10c a minute for everything else. Otherwise, its 25c a minute without the $1 fee. T-mobile doesn't have that.

why not buy a GSM phone (easy for under 50$) make sure its unlocked and then go on a month-month contract?
