you have to get an employee to give you one, they aren't online (pretend you are their friend or something lol). However each invite has a code that you can use if you want to buy online

I just got back from the states. For those of you who live in Vancouver, head down towards seattle, get off on exit 201 at the Seattle Premium Outlet. There's a Banana Republic Outlet store there, that had 40% off entire stock, including items already marked downs for the Black Friday/Thanks Giving Weekend. I bought 2 marino wool sweathers for 20 USD, and 30 USD respectively, and another long sleeve for 25 USD. Girlfriend bought a marino wool turtle neck for 12 USD, plus bunch of tops all sub-20. The only thing i am not sure is, if the deal is still available for Monday. Call first before heading down.

A co-worker son works at Banana Republic and he gave me a card. The only name on the card is the employee's name and the store he works at.

It really depends on the cashier..
You get to keep the invite as it is "reuseable"
So they really don't need it for store records for each transaction.
Just ask nicely and they might let you get the discount.

I got this info direct from my manager. I work at BR. We got a bunch of invites and it's up to us to write the name of the person who we give the invite to.

And I'll be working on cash during the weekend for the sale most likely. :| I don't know how hardass they want us to be on cash.. but I'm sure I'll find out soon.

I dropped by BR at eaton center yesterday, and I asked one of sales people for one. She told me that she has not got hers, and then she went up to ask her manager about it. She came back and told me that she will get some today, and I could go find her in store then she would give one to me.

Just talk to some sales associates, if you are lucky, you will get one from them. It seems managers are not giving those out since he specificly said that store does not give those out, but it is up to sales give to whomever they want.

If you want the grey 3/4 wool coat, I believe it is $138 on BR.com (US only)... might work if you have amerifriend.

I just got back from NY and bought a black one (same style as grey but in black, not on sale on BR.com) for basically US $112 because my friend + I both got something... it was 20% off $198... $160... and then spend $300 get $100 off (thanksgiving weekend)... sweet sweet deal.

Based on last year experience, the black 3/4 length wool coat was on sale for about $90+ a week or so after boxing day; and many sizes left. For some reason, nobody were interested to buy even when it's on sale at the mid-$100 range. The wool coat for this year is very similar (almost the same) as last year one, so we'll see what happens.

So if you reached $450, that was another 33% off ($150)...making for a slightly better deal than F&F on the wool coats.

What you should keep in mind though is that after this weekend, the stores normally start dropping prices anyways - sometimes better than the 30%.

d'euh... that's why it's F&F, obviously there won't be any signs. unlike F&F at other stores, it is worth it here, because you are basically getting the employee discount, since employees get only 30% off sale price items (50% off reg price, but who buys things at regular price, unless it is a franchise piece like a classic suit which rarely goes on sale)

dress shirts are of good value for this -- a lot of them are on sale right now, and there are some great designs. boxers are also on heavy sale, you could get a good pair for $7 w/ this discount. there are some jeans for $30-something, some decent wool pants, some wool coats, etc.

I got it from a friend that works at BR. The extra's are gone. And the one i have used *Might* (not sure yet) be picked up by another RFD'er so he can use it. If he doesn't pick it up, you can have it - I'm done, I've spent enough there already

They were somewhat strict with the Invitation Card @ Pacific Center Mall.

I had to ring in my own purchases including my friends purchases since it had to go under my name.

Altogether the Invitation Card saved about $120!

Sweet deal!

Picked up a coat for $140 (originally $300 but was on sale for $200) and a shirt for $35 (originally $95 but was on sale for $50).

I'm gonna go again tomorrow for some great deals.

I should have gone on Friday for more selections however I was lucky since the coat that I had bought was the very last size available anywhere probably.

Damn went shopping again with the 30% off coupon...

Just came back from the Bayview Village BR. Just talked to a sales rep and asked about the F&F 30% off.

He asked me if I had an invite, I said NO
He asked if I had a friend working at BR, I said "No, but can you be my friend?"

He just reached in his pocket and gave me an invite.

Got the gray/blue plaid wool blazer/coat
some shirts and wool vnecks

Spent about $350 for $450 worth of stuff.

BR employees are not commissioned. The "was anyone helping you today" is just for shifts and meeting sales targets. Managers tend to favour people who have sold more (yes, employees are told exact dollar amounts), and will give those employees more shifts.

i went to the Eaton centre BR and no luck in getting my hands on an invite...they held them tight there for dear life, oh well, i still got a nice pair of pants for cheap.
