Was at Calgary Princess Auto on Weds. THey had a stack of reconditioned WeedEater brand gas trimmers for $35.55. 25cc, 16" cutting diameter, two line, includes extra spool + bottle of oil (to mix w/gas).
Can't wait for spring now!

Is this available in the Coquitlam location? At the same price? Is this the same as the one they had advertised in their flyers for $80 or $90?

I am in need of one... How well does this work? Can you also rotate it such that the spool spins vertically for making lines in the lawn? Sorry for my wording; I know there is a word for this but cannot find it right now....

Not that I saw. This is cheaper than a decent electric one anyways :)

I don't know if it's chain wide, you'll have to phone. I never saw it in the flyer. They just had a stack by the front door. I have no trouble believing that the regular price is upwards of $70, XS Cargo sometimes has similar. (PA of course has a much better return policy :) ) I don't have my receipt handy - I will post the item number if I find it.
I don't know how well it works as I don't plan to try it until spring. Though I desperately want to fire it up, I don't want the hassle of draining it & storing the gas over the winter for no reason.
It does not rotate for edging. I suppose you could try to hold it sideways. That might interfere with the fuel flow. My electric weedwhacker has that feature & I never use it. Used properly, I find I can get results just as well in the horizontal position.

Thanks for the information! Edging was the word I was looking for. :-) What if the trimmer is defective and you have not tested it? Does Princess Auto allow returns after so long?

Perhaps I will drop by within the month, since I may need to buy something else from there too.

PA has a return policy on a par with Costco.
At this price, I guarantee they will not last a month, unless they have hundreds in stock. More like days.
