I would look at the BST section. there is a 6800 Ultra with Zalman VF700 Cu for 370.

also seen an X800 Pro AGP for around 270 or around there. that's a good buy as well.

an X800Pro, X800XT, X850XT, etc. will be faster than 6800 GT

the x800xl performance wise is comparable to the 6800gt, but can be had for alot less over in the BST forum.

in agp, the 6800gts are a lot closer in price to x800's, they are the better deal

or even at future shop its usually on for 299-329. It performs equally and sometimes better than the 6800gt for about 100 bucks cheaper.

best bang for buck is still 9800pro.

x800 pro/xt/xl would be your best bet, they will beat GT (OCed pro will beat pretty much anything pre new-gen even with 12 pipes) and cost a lot less. At the price range you are looking at nVidia is not competitive.

it is better in the fact that it costs about 100 bucks less than a 6800 gt, performance is about equal, with the xl winning some benchmarks, and the gt winning others. check my last post for a whole bunch of benchmarks done by tomshardware.

If you keep your eyes peeled there was somebody selling an X800XT AIW the other day for $300 and i've seen X800XT PE's hit $300. That ATI clearance deal really set the tone for the drops in price of these cards. X800XT PE > 6800U

Champ .. IF ya find the right RFD member they will sell ya a non faulty video card. There are some quite honest & reliable peaple on here for used parts. I know if someone offered me the right $ I'd probly give up my Ati Radeon X800 XT (500 mhz core - 1 ghz ram speed & 16 pipelines) agp video card :P
As for the X850 Pro .. stay away from it ... all it is is a faster version of the X800 Pro ( 520 mhz core - 950 mhz ram speed & 12 pipelines ) if I remember corectly.
X800 XL/XT/XT PE or X850 XT/XT PE are the cards ya want to look at for shure.
