Computer Wont Boot From Windows Xp Cd

my friends computer is really messed and he wants to format.

The problem is when he tries to boot from cd, its not working,

he has an asus a8v-deluxe, he put the first boot as the cdrom then the hard drive then floppy.

he even tried to disable the hard drive just boot only from cd and still no luck.

any ideas ?

hes using windows xp pro original cd.

These are the options...

- drive is not configured correctly
- bios is not configured correctly to boot
- cd is not bootable, is it the original xp cd

go through each one of those and you'll fix your issue. i'm leaning towards the 2nd or 3rd one.
