Just came home from my last shift.
It's been 2.5 years.
I'm too busy with school and frankly I was getting sick of the place. Glad to be gone.
Ironically enough, this is my 500th POST!!!!!!!! Yay me!!!
...Just thought I'd share (especially since that's how some of you know me).

I know that feeling. Feels so good to finally leave something you long to leave long long time ago.
Cheers to bigger and better things to come along :)

Thanks guys.
I'm busy with school and I've got some savings, so I'm taking some time off of work.
When I started it was 7.50, I left at 8.91. Now i think they're hiring at 8.05. Unfortunately the semi-anual raises are only like 0.20. I dont know if this is all different is other provinces.

How much of an employee discount do you get working at Staples?
15% off of office supplies, copy centre stuff, and staples cartridges all the time.
10% off of computer stuff and furniture only one one of the designated emplyee frends and family shopping days. There are six of these every year, usually spread pretty evenly and positioned strategically (like right before school, christmas, etc). These are usually only for the 2 hours before the store opens on a sunday, but they can vary. They also have other specials on these days - usually extra discounts on clearance stuff.

Sentinel, I will be joining you too soon. It's been 10 months, and I'm wanting to wait it out until December. Can't stand the place, even though I've won every award there is possible there. I just can't stand the one manager. Staples has one the highest employee turnover rates. No wonder half the customers I have used to work for Staples. Here's an actual sale that happened.
Me: It seems that we don't have this printer in stock, would you like me to check another store?
Girl: Yeah sure, just make sure you don't call the Laird location, I used to work there.
Then both of us started laughing.

Back when I worked at Best Buy, my starting was $10. During my Rogers 'marketing/promotions' days, my retail campaign paid me $12/hr.
