Ok, weird question perhaps, but is there a way to find out who is calling you if they have a blocked #?

This past week I have gotten like 5-6 calls from a "Blocked ID" on my cellphone. I don't think it's violent or anything but I'd really like to know who's calling me. Is there any way to find out? If I call Bell will they tell me?

i would imagine no, since they are paying bell for the privilege of blocking their number--would be unethical for bell to then resell to you the opportunity 'block' the blocker.

reminds me of that campy film, the big hit. . ."the trace-buster-buster"

What's the point of allowing people to block their number if all you have to do is call the phone company?

Well what if it was abuse? If someone was calling me and harassing me with a blocked number, then what would Bell do? This isn't the case but damn, I wish there was some way of knowing who is calling... and *69 doesn't work.

If it gets up to the 30 calls range then bell can take steps to fix the issue they will not give you number or name.

Then call the phone company. They will get in touch with law enforcement who can get the phone number and address of the person making harassing calls. No matter what though, you will never know the phone number.

There used to be a method back in the day (not sure if you still can) - but you do a *xx code and it will trace a blocked number. I dont't think it told you the #, but traces it and retains the info that you can have the police request from Bell. Which doesn't seem to be all that useful, but I think that's how it went...

I think it was $5 per use or something like that.

or just ignore blocked calls ... if they don't have caller ID then don't answer

cellphones can block numbers, mine usually says "Private Call" :D
If it's one person calling all those times, you might wanna call up Bell and ask them to check...5-6 times should be sufficient for them to take action if its all from the same number...

That's what I was thinking... but there's no way for me to know cause it shows up as "Blocked ID" everytime. Someone obviously doesn't want me to know where they are calling from. :cheesygri

Call Bell and tell them that someone called you several times with the same Blocked ID and its prank calls, THEY can look up the numbers and see if its all from the same person.

5-6 is not sufficient they will say if they keep calling and its up to the late teens then call them back.
