Alright, so I have recently signed up for the Canada Post Corporate Plan which is run by Rogers. It has some stuff I like such as the unlimited weekends and evenings but no sending texts. I left off the texting package because I don't have any money for that right now so I was wondering if I could call back in maybe 3-4 months and somehow get texts for free? Threaten to switch providers if they don't give me free texts or something? Haha, I don't know, would that be possible?

If you recently went on a contract to get that plan, and you said you were going to switch providers, i don't think they will give you it for free. No way, you'll go to collections for the $300 or $200 whatever the max due is IF your on contract, however if your not, I doubt they will care if they lose your or not.

Just my 2 cents

It was my understanding that these corporate plans had to be paid by the user's employer through a bulk billing plan. Am I incorrect ?

I don't know how these contracts work with the corporate plans.

But yeah, I just want cheap text messages, I get free receives but I want to send them out too. Darn unlimited weekends and evenings for not being unlimited all over. =(

My friend referred me to a Rogers dealer that signed her up for a corporate plan. The dealer told me that in order to qualify for a corp plan, the cost of the plan had to be billed to the employer's account. If this is true for all corp plans and you contact Rogers to complain, they may request documentation to indicate that you qualify for a corp plan. I'm not sure if this is true or not.

Here's a thread where corp plans have been discussed:

Well, I do, I'm the son of a government employee (Canada Post) and on the paper it clearly says "For Friends and Family!" though I doubt the friends part. But if anything, my dad can claim it's his. Am I in any position to bargain though?
