eaton centre is not cheap in my opinion...
well it depends what you want to buy: ie. chinatown has many stores and restaurants that offer low prices (ie. kensington market is an area near chinatown that has stores selling clothes for a bargain)
along yonge street, there are several electronics stores with competitive prices for mp3 players, tvs, etc. i once bargained my mp3 player's price down by 30-40 dollars cause i kept crossing the street and telling them what the other store is offering me :D

My opinion too... :) Eaton Centre is Not cheap at all! It's a tourist attraction and most of the stuff are usually more expensive there. I remember when there was still CompuCentre there, the prices were usually $5 more expensive than other stores within GTA.
Oh and try College/Spadina area for satelite parts, electronics, computers etc. But you really need to know what you're getting, because the customer service are usually rather poor.

that is a good tactic. These stores are more willing to give customer service and be nice to you.
I remember using that for an MD and got it 50 or so dollars cheaper then the normal retail store.
Spadina and college has alot of cheap computer stores.

Yeah, I used to work right next door to the Eaton Centre and I would wander there daily. I got so sick of that place after about 2 weeks.
You can occasionally find good deals on nice dress clothes during clothing sales. Some of my nice shirts came from there for $15 each (normal price $50 each) at International Clothiers.

It's all about having patience, perseverance, and a sense of not being lazy to bargain downtown. Oh and how can I forget...asking/acting politely works wonders with store owners, no matter what background they are from (because those who are willing to bargain are usual ones who come from another country)

For some things like hard drives and wifi cards, Costco actually beats college & spadina and provides a better warranty to boot. No 3% surcharge for credit cards either. ;)
Though don't get me wrong, something like 50% of my current computer is purchased at College / Spadina, and the rest is Bigfoot / NCIX / Costco.

i personally enjoy the "no taxes/pay cash" deals with the less popular Chinatown computer stores ;)

ok so i mean for all these satelite parts i understand the no warranty part i really need the lnb and the arm my satelite got blown off my roof a couple of weeks ago on the reallly windy day where it rained at night and the morning was just extremely windy could you give me the stop for the subway. Im in Markham so not really too knowleadgable to the area but I can manage with an intersection or subway stop. and your right i dont mean like malls because especially eatons centre is really expensive its like any other mall its more for people who are down there and if there are deals theyre not great.

Chinatown: Spadina Station (either get out and walk or take the TTC)
However if you'd like to check out as many stores as possible and not too lazy to walk around...I would recommend to use this map:
http://www.toronto.ca/ttc/pdf/downtown.pdf
Get off at Bloor/Yonge, walk South on Yonge checking out stores on Yonge St., when you get to Dundas go East all the way to Spadina (takes about 30 minutes walking) and head North up on Spadina.
Either way, that map should help you out on where to get off.
Best of luck!
However, since you live in Markham, aren't there tons of bargain priced stores there too for what you are looking for?

"No!"
"imma look around."
ITs just a cultural thing.... Asians (south and EasT) are all about talking deals.
If you dont talk deals some consider it an insult! at least ask for "no tax"
