Supplementary Freezer Chest - who owns one?

I'm just curious, how many of you, or your parents, own a supplementary freezer chest along with a refridgerator+freezer appliance?

I'm part of a 4 member family and I find the extra freezer to be a waste of space, money, and electricity. As much as I disagree with the ownership, my parents think it's necessary. There seems to be enough freezer space in the regular fridge, so is it considerably weird that we keep about 3 months of supplies (mildy exaggerating) in the extra freezer? lol

Anyone else in the same situation? It's understandable for a large family, but for 4 individuals who are barely home to eat together?! COME ON!

We have a full sizer freezer as well.
I find it useful, say there was a good deal on something frozen, can stock up on it. We usually buy non-packaged meat, it helps. Also good for dead bodies, can keep them there for a while.

A chest freezer is great when you find something cheap and can stock up. Also, I sometimes find the freezer in my regular fridge runs out of space quickly when I put a frozen turkey in there.

It's nice to be able to go shopping without worrying if everything's going to fit in the freezer. A half-sized deep freeze is a good idea. A turkey and a pail of ice cream will pretty much fill my freezer. I also like to keep bread (sandwich, hotdog and burger buns) in the freezer.

I have the full sized one. The chest ones makes getting some items to be a real pain in the ass if they're buried at the bottom.

We have 2 full size freezers (family of 5, 2 teenage boys!). One is for the yearly side of beef and other meat and the other is for bread, vegetables, etc. I never have to wonder when I'm shopping if I have enough freezer space for that great deal. :)

i got a mini freezer chest.. for the overflow..family of 4 plus lots of frozen goods that'll keep us good for awhile...

yea, i have 2 fridges too and a full size freezer.

im only using one of the fridges right now cause thats all i really need fridgewise but my freezer is always 80%+ filled at all times.

full sized freezer is great for frozen pizzas and i have a bunch of those precut frozen fruits for my smoothies :) i cant imagin living without my big freezer.

Kitchen - 22 cu ft fridge with freezer on the bottom

Basement - 19.6 cu ft upright freezer & 17 cu ft all fridge (has NO freezer).

We stock up when there are sales and I am sure that the savings on the food costs easily pays for the electricity used by the appliances.

I have to have the spare freezer (6 foot long chest freezer) - or else I'd end up going shopping every week for things that I eat all the time.

Right now I think I have 4 4kg boxes of chicken breast, 4 3kg bags of pees, 2 8packs of burger, 7 homemade apples pies I made and so much more.

I can't think of how I'd get by without a seperate freezer

three of us in our house, and we couldn't live without our chest freezer.
it's great to not have to buy a small box of everything. the bigger the better, and the mroe you buy the cheaper...so yeah.
we stock up on frozen pizza for the kids, bread, meat and anything else that's on sale because we have the room :)
and we have a second fridge in the garage for pop :)
