It has an 8" display and is on sale right now for $284.99. I'm not familiar with this manufacturer, any opinions?

Just picked it up. One thing, the "Credit Card" price of $285 is if you use the source credit card. I paid $299 for it (regularly $349) and I gotta say, it's a pretty slick little system. Plays AVI files burned on to CD or DVD, off of USB or SD card. Definitely a good replaceemnt for my busted DVD player.

Update: This thing crapped out on me after two days. Needless to say, I'm less than happy. I'll be returning it tonight. :(

Centrios (as well as Nexxtech) is The Source's own brand. They just get a factory to OEM it and slap any brand name they want on it. So each of the products under Centrios or Nexxtech can be built by different manufacturer and YMMV in terms of quality.

Last update on this product. I brought some discs with Divx fles (.avi extensions) into the store and an SD card with some more divx files. I tried them on the DISPLAY model and had the same prblem. The disks froze up and the SD card was completely useless. I then tried the discs in some other display equipment (another portable and a full size player) and they all worked fine. This model is garbage. Avoid like the plague. I don't care if it's $50 off, it's still useless. Now I need to find a good deal on a Portable Divx Player.
