Hi guys I am interested in snowboarding. Can some please tell me a decent newbie setup and how much that setup costs? Were would be a good place to get my gear? I am looking to save as much money as I can but still get gear that is half decent.

Thanks

there's a ski and snowboard show going on in the cne area from oct 13 to 16th...http://www.sportsmensshows.com/SkiShow/

as a beginner, don't buy something expensive.... a cheapo board for about $100-150 is a good idea... you want something that is really flexible, in snowboard terms, a noodle... it will make learning much easier, when you make mistakes with it, it will be much more forgiving than a stiffer board....

as for bindings, you don't want something really cheap or else you'll risk having the ratchets freeze up... stick with good names like Agency, Technine, Drake.... with Ride and Burton, stick with their midrange stuff....

boots, make sure you try them on, they'll need to fit snug... because you'll be wearing them all day, make sure it's not tight around your foot... because it really sucks when your foot cramps up in the boot.... get whatever u find to be the most comfortable.

Go check out the Gen X retail outlet in Toronto. If you qualify for the platinum discount there, you can get 50 or 60% off the price. They are north of 401 and dufferin
