I'm interested in getting basic cable service from ROGERS. Does anyone know of any current promotions for new activations not on their website?? ie, waiving the activation fee, etc...
TIA.

I signed up for Rogers last week, no activation fee + 25% off for the next 8 months. Just tell them you are a student. They didn't even check if I was a student or not.

Really?? That's a good deal! Thanks for letting me know. Now, I'll just have to dig up my student card.. :cheesygri Oh btw, are you living in school residence or a regular house in the city?? Thanks.

In an appartment in the city.
The sales rep was telling me this offer will be ending soon, so you better hurry up.

Or,
you can just get satellite. There's the initial setup cost, but then you save loads of money and get better programming.

Alright, I just called Rogers. The student promo deal ended at the end of September and there are no current deals. The guy offered me free activation if I get the Ultimate TV Pak ($53.97 including tax) but I'm really just looking for Basic Cable. He also said I would get a digital box but is that necessary as I only want the basic analog service??

Just pay for basic cable and take off the filter. Countless times I've backed my car or dropped my motorcycle into my cable box and the filter has *disappeared*.
