I got lured into the SHAW student cable package and i need a TV because ours crapped out and will cost over 100 to fix (and it sucks anyways).

I want something hopefully 32 inch or so (27 ok too) for around $150 bucks. Obviously this will in all likelyhood have to be used, but that's ok. I figure there might even be a long shot at some small TV places clearing out old tube tv's because of LCD's being all the rage. Used ok, Refurb ok, Clearance...etc..

Greater Vancouver Area

help please!

ps i'm actually looking for around 100 bucks, but 150 would be MAX. or free's good. or people who will pay me to take their tv is good. or winning lottery tickets are good...etc. you get the idea.

Sorry, can't help you with a used one but Walmart has 27" Sanyo's or 27" Flat Screen Digistar's on sale this week for $199. I know you said your limit was $150 so maybe this won't work for you but I thought I'd let you know just in case.

(Well actually I DO have a used Sony Trinatron 27" that I will be getting rid of as soon as I pick up a new TV--but I'm in the middle of nowhere--close to Calgary--and besides the reason we're getting rid of it is because the sound is acting funny)

I also want to buy a cheap TV. It should be about 20" with closed captioning. I don't have other requirements. BTW, I am in Calgary. :cheesygri

You know, just today I was out looking at TV's again. I'm going to buy one of the new one's from Walmart unless I happen to come accross a better deal within the next few days (doubtful)

Anyway, I went into an Audio/Video store (It was Muntz Audio and Video but I'm sure that you could go into any Audio/Video where ever you live) and they have used TV's for sale. Any TV's that people bring in to have fixed and then don't bother to pick up, they sell. They had quite a few and for not bad prices. I think you could easily get a 27" for under $150.

Also, if your Audio/Video stores don't sell used ones then check with local TV repairer's--they have to sell the ones that people don't pick up too.

have you tried the buy sell trade section of red flag deals?

there's also a site called usedvancouver.com, they have some decent used stuff....

yeah i've been SCOURING those sites, as well as craigslist. i don't think this is too unreasonable a request! Brand new SONY 32'' flatscreen at FS for under 600, the 27'' for 400, and you can get a new sharp for 200 at walmart...

so howcome people want 500 for 10 year old non-flat screen yamikamoshibanonamebrand tv's?!? go figure. thanks for all the help guys, I will keep looking and find time to go to a tv repair shop soon.
