View Full Version : Display Properties problem:

On my old PC, I can't get into Display Properties anymore. I'm sure I could before - it just seems to have stopped.

Running an Athlon 800 in it, and a GeForce2MX 400 (yeah, it's old) and Windows XP.

Clicking on it in Control Panel, trying to get to it by right clicking on Desktop... no luck. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers (the ones that came with windows, anyway) to no avail. And some repair thing I found on another forum which I'm assuming repaired all Windows XP files.

Ran Spybot with no results (though it's an older definition - have yet to get it online to update).

Anyone had a similar problem, or any ideas how to fix it?

Thanks!

Try installing latest Nvidia drivers (www.nvidia.com)

No joy.

Now have the Nvidia little control thing that will let me change resolution and the like, but I still can't get in to change the settings (Screensaver, for example...)

Anything else?

Thanks

search for desk.cpl in your windows folder
is it there?
replace it from the one in the cd
