I'm just finishing up university, and starting to look around for jobs. I found one that looks right up my alley, I fit all the qualifications, and the responsibilities look interesting. The only exception is one of the responsibilities is "Input Corporate P.O.'s into SAP". I'll be honest, I don't know what SAP is. While I don't even know if I will apply, it's going to bother me if I don't find out what this is. Can anyone help?

PO probably stands for Purchase Order, SAP is a database/management program or set of programs based on a quick google search ;)

above poster is correct..

dont worry about how to do it..as long as you can use RFD all by yourself~ you should be ok with a little trainning program on SAP once work starts..they dont list it as a prereq..but as as responsibility.
im sure the company has a little trainning booklet or online utility to show u how to use it..if not, im sure any other employee can show u in a few minutes..
goodluck!

The only exception is one of the responsibilities is "Input Corporate P.O.'s into SAP".
This is a clerical function and will take you 15 mins to learn and about 10 entries to be proficient, especially if you have to do a lot of them.
If this is a large company you're applying to, they'll probably have a comprehensive SAP inhouse course after you join. There'll be overview of SAP system and then appropriate modules for your job function & responsibilities.
I used to love this administrative routine out of my management duties, only because I was authorizing or purchasing 'toys' for the lab!

Thanks a lot everyone! I saw the SAP website, but still wasn't exactly sure on the specifics. Also, one friend sugested it was Simply Accounting Program, which didn't seem to fit the job at all. I want to go into the interview ensuring I can talk about all the requirements, so now I'll have to go look into this a little more. I'm very happy to hear it is an easy thing to learn. Thanks again!

If it's at all a large company, they won't be using Simply Accounting as it's more geared towards SMEs...

SAP is pronounced 'S' 'A' 'P' & not 'sap' will be the first giveaway at interview.
im willing to bet most staff...even the interviewer will call it "SAP"...the short way is the easy way~
but play it safe and refer to it as S.A.P. ;)
