After a weekend of watching CNN I though America was the only place that got weather. Had no idea other parts of the world got bad weather too.

yeah i received that email from someone too and promptly deleted it. i hate how indians sometimes have to look at other people's tragedies to bring themselves up :mad:

You got to be kidding me!!? If anything, that's from a person who sees and recognizes the farce of the whole tragedy; the tragedy of how a hegemonic country can drop the ball in such a critical moment.

yeah it is ********. even though NO got less rain, it's below the lake it's built on. so the lake just filled it up.
but building a city below the lake it's on is also ********.

This one boggles my mind as well.. I can't understand how people could.. snap.. such that they think shooting at emergency personnel was a good idea

Point being: The US really messed up the response to Katrina, big time.. very big time. And the pitiful response cost lives. I don't think anyone disputes that.
OTOH, it appears that the Indian government acted appropriately (can't say for certain - I don't have enough information).
