Can I access hotmail via Thunderbird?

Ah, rats. Thanks for your reply!! :) I love the spam detection that it offers, so have been using Thunderbird for my reg. e-mail program, {OE.} Does anyone know of a very effective and free anti-spam e-mail program for OE, then? Thanks!

hotmail server doens't even support checking with outlook now on new accounts and the old account access is getting phased out. :|

gmail, it has pop so you can use it with thunderbird.

This is the older freeware version of hotmail popper v2.11
The current v3.02 is shareware which is HERE (http://www.boolean.ca/hotpop/) has the setup instructions.

Hey, thanks Bug, it works!!! Do you think I have to have the popper running in the background though? Seems to be that way. Anyway, I'm thrilled to access hotmail, gmail, and my 'real' mail through one program now.

Thanks too, Siriuskao, for letting me know I can access gmail through there; I have done that now, too! :)

I'm going to go see if I can have access to my yahoo e-mail via some googling.

yes you do need to keep it running.
I tried yahoo mail with this too, but no go. The Thunderbird FAQ explains how to do it, but it only works with yahoo premium email accounts.
