in my PC I have an Seagate 80 gig SATA drive for the OS, MUSIC

I also have a WD 200 IDE drive for my media (pvr tv, movies etc..)

I am finding its not enough space. I don't know if I should get another SATA drive or a IDE drive?

These are the 2 options I am considering maybe you could help me figure which type of drive would work best.

1. I could get another 200 or 250 and combine it with my WD 200 - format it as one big drive. If I do this would I need to get IDE?

2. I could get another drive - leave it as a 3rd drive and use it as a drive just for movies, my other just for tv series and the other os and music.

So any suggestions which I should get - SATA or IDE.

Stick with the harddrive interface that you are predominantly using. It won't matter if it's IDE or Sata really.

I would keep the harddrives seperated for fragmentation reasons.

Doesn't really matter what you get, especially if it is storage. Just get what is the best deal at the time, that would be IDE usually. I don't notice the speed difference, unless it's a Raptor (but they are small).
