I for one just love ondemand over the stores here is a quick run down.

Video Stores

1)Movies not alwas in stock
2)Having to go back to return the,
3)The cost of of moves is getting way to high.

Ondemand

1)Order from your own home
2)Movies are alwas in stock.
3)No line ups.

tmn on demand should have more movies avaible . i have this option and i think its just great how series are available in cause u miss the show when it first aired.

i personally hate video stores i prefer the comfort of my own home while wathcing movies , tmnondemand does just this .

in my eyes

The thing I liked about video stores more was that they had older movies and movies that weren't "mainstream" (limited releases for example) or extremely popular, which "on demand" solutions didn't have.

For the most part ondemand does have older movies not the limited but there are older ones.I know alot of people don't use video stores as much the question is will there be video stores in 10 years from now.

This doesn't apply to Canada, but in the US, there's the following, and many of the stations we receive are from the US:

Analog shutoff controversy
...
According to FCC rules, all full power stations on channels 251 must convert to digital by the beginning of 2007, with an escape clause that 85% of receivers in the service area must be "capable" of receiving digital signals. At the time of analog shutoff, one channel would then be returned to the government for sale to a new licensee, with the digital one remaining. Existing analog TV sets would still work with cable or satellite service or use a converter box that would convert digital over-the-air (OTA) signals to analog.

I remember over 10 years ago, Shaw & Rogers saying by the late 90's we would all have digital TV.

Rogers Video stores are often dirty as hell, I can't believe the level of filth that coats the shelves...yikes.

I'd vote for ROD. Same price as Blockbuster, plus you don't have to go there to pick up the movie and bring it back. I've noticed that movies aren't released as quickly on ROD as they are in video stores though, they seem to be a couple of weeks behind. Another plus for ROD is that you can also watch a preview of the movie before renting it.

I don't like on demand - full screen movies, no bonus features. I'd rather rent!

Renting is becoming a thing of the past injoy it now.In another few years it will be a mostley ondemand world.

Renting is becoming a thing of the past injoy it now.In another few years it will be a mostley ondemand world. That's fine by me, as long as the on demand companies get their heads out of their asses, and offer widescreen versions of the films along with DVD/bonus content. Until then, it's cheaper and still convenient to hit the local mom'n'pop video store and rent.
