You can upgrade the HDD to any size, a 60 Gigger will do fine.
The Modchip/bois supports all makes and sizes upto 138GB.

I don't have the old premods anymore. I will be selling the new premods at $430 because I will make sure that it has the new samsung dvd drive. These babies read cd-r, cd-rw, dvd-r, dvd+r, while the older ones only reads dvds and "may" be able to read some cd-rws.

As for the HDD swaps, ya, you can swap between the 2 hdds... just have to prep the 2 drives.

I have tried the linux live so far and it works great. I haven't tried the mandrake one yet(don't want to sacarfice my 72GBs)

No, pre-modded means I modded it before you buy it.

I wonder though, (and forgive me if it's not kosher to ask this here).. where is a good place in T.O. to buy dvd backups? I want to investigate that before I toss down the money for the chip ( although having xbox media player would make it all worth it..! )..

I've been looking EVERYWHERE for backups, but alas.. they don't exist.. (Something to do with Microsoft being an north american company.. so just like you will not find Windows XP backups on sale, you won't find game backups on sale).

On the same note, I got a version 1.0 with a phillips drive inside of it, and it's been a PAIN to find compatible DVD-R discs to be used with it!

The only ones that work thus far are 1X Princo and 4X Ritek.. But Ritek too expensive and Princo extremly "bad" discs..

Anyone know where I can buy silver top 1X or 2X Ritek in Markham??

Hey there.

Both mod chips have the disable switch to load the original bios.

Therefore you can go and play XBLive.

Both you and Nitro did a great job on my Xecuter pro 2 install! The Xecuter pro 2 chip works great! I will definitely refer people to have you guys mods their xboxes....

Hey guys, I recently got an Xbox with Xecuter2 Lite .. how do I upgrade the bios on it? Also how do I switch to retail bios in order to run Xbox Live? Can I play games off the HD if I use Xbox Live or I have to buy those?

It should be legal though as long as you don't include the hacked bioses or the evolutionx dashboard since they contain copyrighted code from MS.

Just got a NEW xbox last week, with new (and waaaaaay) better control pad. IF I mod this one, what are the chances that a). something's gonna go wrong requiring warranty service and B). that I can find a place to fix any potential problems since warranty won't cover it. Oh, and c). does the xboxlive switch require drilling into plastic?

I looked around locally and the guy wanted $100 for a bios flash and $50 for HD install.. those put in X2 Pro and did the HD setup and it only cost me $125 .. once again great job guys.. and thank you :D

Just got my box modded with X 2.2 lite. Enjoying it a *lot* now. Duke knew what he was doing (he was chatting with me while working away), transfered my old HD contents over to the new one(so I won't loose those hard-earned save-games!) and threw in some "bonuses" onto the box too.

So Mad-Mods are *highly* recommended! It was worth the 40 min drive! There are closer modders, but these guys know their stuff, inside and out.

I've dealt with Duke and he does a great job with all his mods and he's very client friendly. I've brought about 4-5 XBOXes to his office already and all are working great. If you are in the market to get a mod for your xbox, he's definitely the go to guy. :cool:
