Caller block and identifiable ringtones? Doesn't sound bad!

Phonemates are definitely not the best quality phones, but their cheap price makes them almost disposable. I remember the 5.8ghz version goes on sale for $29.99 regularly at FS/BB. You should consider that one if you have a 801.11 wireless network.

Its showing OOS with 35 units remaining :?:
The caller block is an interesting feature. Any other phone has this feature??

Hmm, I can't add it to my cart right now; states on-line availability not working now... rats. Looks like a good enough deal, and if the quality if poor, can always be returned.
Edited to add:I had to log in first, prior to ordering. It worked now. :) Thanks, OP. It does state OOS {FOOtureShop?} but it will send when available, so I would imagine it wouldn't take all that long. :)
Edited to add, does anyone know what kind of a battery this phone takes?? {I.e., do you have to wait for the phone's battery to dis-charge prior to setting it on the re-charge cradle, or can you place it on the cradle nightly, etc.}

Battery is NiCad. They will develop a memory over time. Gotta wait till it warns you it's almost dead before charging. It's still a good price.

Phonemate is garbage. I wud strongly suggest against it. Spend a lil more & buy a quality product.
Telling u from personal experience.
Ciao ;)

The 5.8G model comes with Ni-MH battery which is better. However it lacks the caller blocking feature that the 2.4G mode has.
Also I believe XS Cargo has not returns, sales are final.

I don't buy cheap no-name phones anymore.
Usually they look good in the beginning but it does not take too long before they start sounding bad or behaving stangely.
Buy good phones on sale, pay a bit more and get some quality.

What's your "good phone", and how much battery life do you get with it?

All of the low end cordless phones regardless of brand are approx equal in quality IMHO, though Consumer Reports says GE are particularly crappy.
When ever I am in the States I pick up what ever cordless phones are under $10 after MIR since the battery pack and the AC adaptor are worth more than the price of the phone.
900 MHz analogue with no call display are regularly on sale (ie at least once a month) at BB, Circuit City or Office Max for $2.99 after MIR.

I'd really like to know what brand and model is excellent. I already know that all the sub-150$ Motorola are crap.

I haven't had any problems with any of my Panasonics, so they're number 1 in my books. I've had phones by nearly every other companies, and they don't come close.

I see PhoneMate phones in mass quantities in the "salvage" area of my local liquidation shops all the time. For those unfarmiliar with salvage, it's basically the defective products returned to retailers and they end up here for dirt cheap.
I once bought a $2 toaster from the salvage section, looked brand new! Discovering that the thing did not pop was not fun let me tell you! :-0

I second Panasonic. I have the following cordless phones:
- Panasonic 25 channel cordless phone with speakerphone base (12 years old)
- Panasonic 900 MHz cordless phone
- Panasonic 2.4 GHz cordless phone
- Uniden 900 MHz cordless phone
I find that Uniden and Panasonic are pretty decent. The 25 channel Panasonic sound quality is better then most 900 MHz cordless phones I have listened to. All I have done is changed batteries on the 25 channel phone (2 batteries in 12 years at $8 a battery for OEM Panasonic).
Won't touch a GE phone... bought one, and sounded like hell from day one. Returned it within the week.

Ordered this one. I just had my Panasonic 2.4 ghz die on me. About 5 years old, extended warranty up too. May just start going with disposable electronics.
