View Full Version : DEAD - Bestbuy 10% off coupon code PRINTABLE -valid Sept 9 - Sept 11

10% off on-line Coupon code: PREFCUST550786331407
I saw two of these. One at my place and another one at family member's place. The code seems to be universal.
Offer good on-line and in store between Sept 9 - Sept 11.
Sale limited to in stock items. Unless otherwise indicated excludes clearance, demo and open box poducts.

*Discount not available on computers, laptops, video game consoles, digital cameras under 4 megapixels, confectionary items, greeting cards, iPods, DVD writers and hard drives. Post-paid cellphones require in-store activation to receive discount.

OK. In order redeem this in-store:
Print the coupon:
http://newsletter.bestbuy.ca/im/2005/BBY/Promo/09_07/static_en.html
Cashier's Instructions:

Press F12
Scan the barcode or enter the SKU at the 'Scan discount coupon offer' prompt
Discount will be automatically deducted from invoice
Discard Coupon

So obviously on the hardcopy there is a barcode. But as on all barcodes there is also a manual number 10065144.

Both of the coupon flyers I have has the same number so it seems universal as well.

But I am sure if in store one demands a hardcopy of this coupon, they will supply.

Let the bargain hunting begin. See my Nikon D50 (http://www.redflagdeals.com/forums/showthread.php?t=180875&highlight=nikon+d50) post related to this.

So what they mean is that the coupon only works with half their camera selection, printers, games, media, and the HT department.

Black's has the sd500 for $549.99
price match at bestbuy with black's to bring it to $544.99 after 110%pm
then use the coupon code to take 10% off .10 X $544.99 = 54.499
$544.99 - $54.499 = $490.49
tell me if my math is wrong

affirmative... that is 1 of the ways...

virtually EVERY SINGLE CONTEST that FS/BB promotes, they'll ask for email addy and a "checkbox" asking for ur participation in their respective newsletters regarding promotions, wkly sales, etc....

u can also sign-up directly for that newsletter on FS/BB's homepage.

For everyone that has asked, I went to Best Buy a few days ago to buy something and the greeter at the door hands out a flyer and gives out an invitation to the customer appreciation sale also so I'm sure you can just go to the store and they'll give you one or at the very least, just ask for one. Hope that helps!!

but don't 4get to check ur mailbox 4 the physical copy too... u never know, u might just get it... ;)

SEVERAL QUESTIONS!!!

1. So can i buy an LCD with this coupon?

2. Do i need this coupon to use it IN STORE? or do I just tell the cashier the coupon numbers?

3. Can this be applied to Gift cards? Because ppl are selling gift cards on RFD for 15% off and such...so that's even a BETTER Bargain!

Thanks

that would be correct, sir. i don't use my cell often. i'm on the $10/month fido prepaid plan. 10% + 20% (through discount giftcards) for a $10 card works out to be $8.21 (inc. tax), which is not bad.

Thanks for the reply. :) I don't use my phone often either. I'm leaning towards Virgin Mobile for their 4 month expiry period and reasonably low rate. How many cents per minute is the Fido $10 gift card? I've actually been torn between Fido and VM for the past few days. Fido seems to be a better deal cent/minute-wise at .15 cents with their $30 for 60 days voucher (and you get $50+$20 referral in minutes when you buy one of their phones), but to get that rate you're forced to pay $15 a month. (the $30 for 60 days voucher is labelled as a promotion too, which makes me a bit tentative about it). Virgin Mobile costs a bit more, but you're only forced to pay $15 every 4 months. I guess it really depends how much you use your phone.

The $10 card is for 30c/min. I don't need more than 33 mins' worth per month. When someone calls me, and I'm near a landline, I just look at the caller id, cancel the call, and call back using the landline. :cheesygri

why top up $10 every month with fido for 30c/min
when virgin mobile works out to be
(15/4) = $3.75 per month (minimum usage) for 25 cents/minute

if your usage is below 33min/month, $15 on virgin mobile should last you 2 to 3 months without topping up any money.

if u got more than 1 code, take ur time to decide what u wanna buy...

but if u got only 1 code, take MORE time and make urself that 1 gigantic order for the 10%off.... b/c indeed u can only use the coupon once per acct... ;)
of course, if u got >1 family member/relative that has an acct, i guess u could "borrow" it to use the same code again...

what im looking at is pioneer 1015 receiver

so it would be:
699 - 599 = 100
599 - 10 = 589 (10% of difference)
589 - 58.9 = 530.10 (10% coupon)

"next few days"???

um... code is valid til Sept 11 (Sun) so if ur "next few days" passes that, i'd assume it won't work on Mon.

so ur "large order" better be decided within the next 2 days... ;)

btw, in terms of the DD coupon code to be used online and only once per acct, this is specifically referring to the actual $XX DD codes.... not the XX% coupon codes....

remember that BB price error on the Benq1620 drive for $20 after MIR? well i guess enuff complaints went thru that BB finally decided to offer us a $10 DD code as compensation... i used it and tried again and needless to say it didn't work... tried it using my bro's acct and it didn't work either (assumed code was acct specific)

just FYI :)

I've got important news for you guys - it looks like the coupon still works on Out of Stock items. I repeat, the coupon might still work on items that are OOS.

Proof: I've just applied the coupon to a TV stand that is currently OOS. I can see in checkout that the 10% discount has been successfully applied.

Now, although I was able to apply the coupon successfully, I can't rule out the possibility that BB will tell me later that it cannot be used, as my item was OOS when I tried buying it. However, I highly doubt this scenario will take place because the coupon was already applied to my item during checkout. (Usually if a coupon works at checkout, then you're in business. But in cases where a coupon doesn't work, the system lets you know right away by bringing up an error message during the checkout process.)

Now it's also possible the coupon only works on some OOS items, but not on others. Who knows.

Bottom line: If the item you want to buy at BB is currently OOS, try to use the coupon anyway. You might still be able to get the 10% discount, as I did.

Good luck!

Does anyone know if BB is supposed to price match a TV I bought two weeks ago? Would they give me 10% back if I bring the receipt in-store?

I spoke to the sales manager in Scarborough, and he refused. He said that this is one of the exclusion in the price guarantee. I told him I could well return my existing TV and buy one now with 10% off. He would be better off giving me the 10% or BB would lose more with my returned TV. He did not care, and said "Go ahead, you are entitled to return it within 30 days"!

thanks to the OP. I needed a new UPS for my computer so this coupon came at the right time. The UPS I ordered (APC BX1200) was already on sale from $200 down to $180 but with the coupon it brought it down to $162. Maybe not the best deal ever but still not too bad.

Was at BB, picking up a wireless card.
at register, they said it was the preferred customer sale.
So 10% OFF.

Now, I can't confirm if its all locations or on all products.

if ur lookin fwd to the 16X burn speed, then yes, for that price its worth getting.

but if ur lookin for "quality", don't go for'em... as u may already know, they're MIT Riteks.... ;p

if u found MIJ spindles f/ FS's labour day sale, that was a better deal... IMO

They're Riteks? Eww, I didn't know that. Probably will go return them once I get 'em.

EDIT: I don't think 16x Memorex Ritek's exist. According to VH, there's only RICOHJPNR03, PRODISC.R04, PHILIPS.C16, MCC.....004, and CMC MAG.M01.

There are no Canadian reviews, but I was hoping for the best and getting the MCC

Thx to OP.

Just get 21.50 back as a result for the Insignia 7" portable DVD player.

The gal (Holly) was kinda pain to deal w/ when she heard the terms like 'price protection'/'price match'. The funny part is she didn't even look at my BB online order print out (which proof the 10% off works on the DVD player)

It does. My total is $809. Is this a good LCD TV?

Hi all, I have been eyeing for a small speaker system for awhile and finally found this sony 7.1 speaker system on sale. The original price for this Sony (SA-VE367T) 7.1 Speaker System is $499 but it is on sale for $249. When i went to the Markham location today there weren't any on the shelf but the guy got me one from the back and i asked him if I could use the 10% preferred customer coupon I printed out, and he said no because on the flyer said it is clearence, but he wasn't the one that check me out so when i got to the check out i showed the coupon to the lady and i got 10% on top of it so it ends up $225 + tax

to break it down
$499.99
-$250.00
=$249.99
-$25.00 (10% off)
=$224.99

Anyways, just wanted to share with you guys, and i'm looking for a receiver now, does anyone know if i can get pricematch at BB, I saw the receiver is cheaper at Futureshop, not sure if i can pricematch it at BB and put the 10% on top of that as well, could someone let me know.

I thought they would have passed them out. But they weren't at the west side best buy in edmonton on friday. I had my printout so I didn't care, but usually they do, don't they?

Anyway I ended up getting my solomobile phone for $115, NHL 2006 for under $30(pm and 10% :P) but wasted my savings on a stupid controller I had to buy since I left all mine back in PG :(

it is selling at 599 at FS
and 699 at BB

i was wondering if i can pricematch at BB for 699 - 110 = 589

then i can apply the 10% off 589 - 10% off = ~530

I thought I mentioned it already
but it does work on things not on the list. such as VIDEO CARDS

so why don't you try it? it should show the discount on the checkout. iit will just change the price but not say discount or anything.

So if I am looking for some DVD media, what is the best ones to get? I haven't bought blank DVDs before, so I don't know how good any of the brands are. I was hoping to pick up some before this sale ends tonight. Is it worth it to try to get the Memorex DVD+Rs? I don't have a BB in my area, so I can't really return anything easily. You should look for good media codes on the media. I don't think anybody knows the media codes of the Memorex media... until somebody's bought them that is. Unfortunately, nobody has posted anything about getting them and what media code they are. I bought some and will post if they're any good on Monday or Tuesday when I get them in the mail. You won't get the 10% discount, but they'll still be on sale ;-)

I called BestBuy yesterday to check what their latest price was for a 27" Sony TV because I wanted to make sure it was cheaper (even with the 10% off) than the competition. The competition currently had that model on sale.

The rep who spoke with me said they just lowered their price, likely to match the competition's advertised price, so I could use the 10% coupon on top.
Great, made sure there was stock and headed for the store.

At the store, I couldn't find that rep. Another rep told me at first that they didn't carry that model. Then we found it on display. Then he said they can't use the 10% coupon on sale items and a few other excuses.

I told him:
1. Another rep told me that I could use the 10% off coupon.
2. The coupon does not exclude sale items, just open box & clearance items.
3. Their price was now 5 cents cheaper than the competitor but clearly it
wasn't a sale item. It was just their new regular price.

After being disgusted by his 'tricks', I asked to speak to his manager.
He then agreed to put the purchase through with the coupon and I saved 10%. It was a pretty good deal but not a satisfying experience.

My guess is BestBuy reps might not be on commission but they probably have month end reports of who earned the most and least profit that results in official policies where reps try to push profitable items the most. And, sometimes it makes simply application of policy a pain for the consumer.

Sometimes RedFlag'ers might take advantage of misprints or other 'borderline' deals, but I really hate it when a big company like BestBuy has staff who try to get away from basic application of their coupons.

BB employees do have some sort of eval. Not sure what type of eval, but they do get one.

A friend of mine went to do the PM (BB vs. Dell) on the 256 MB Sandisk and the sales guy didn't want to do it for him and said for him to go see customer service; he explained that it'll somehow affect him (he caught himself talking too much and said for him just to see customer service).

There's no major retailer that doesn't offer incentives for the employees to make sales; if they did the sales guys would get lazy and no go the extra mile for the company.

Another funny thing is that customer service had a real difficult time connecting to the internet or maybe just didn't know how to do it. Then they didn't know how to navigate Dell's website.

They said that he wasn't sure if they could PM Dell.ca and needed to consult with someone else. After 45 mins. and consulting with 2 others no one knew what to do, so they said go ahead and PM Dell.

I don't know where you're shopping but I get pounded by Best Buy staff much more often than from my local FS. Actually, I can't remember being pounded on by any FS staff from at least 5 different stores I've visited in the GTA, not even in the mobile/digital camera sections. All they do is ask you, "May I help you?"

Whereas in Best Buy, I get a load full of ****. A staff would just stand in front of various places, ie. in front of the hard drives, graphics cards, etc., and ask you the same question over and over again, "what are you looking for today sir, oh this is a magnificent card blah blah" when I haven't ever replied yet, and they go on like a robot even if I walk away or say "no thanks". And if I walk past them again they totally forgot ever talking to me and say the **** again WITH THE SAME WORDINGS, I mean, they must practise in front of the mirror or something.

Again, I'm pretty positive BB staff are on commission.

Sorry for the slow response..... Guess I'll still respond in case it happens again.

I took the Best Buy coupon that I printed off and showed FS that it was valid for the product I was buying. FS asked if Best Buy had the product in stock (of course, I said yes!) then they said they would price match the coupon. Even though BB said they wouldn't accept their own coupon.
