Should be 'available Sept. 6' not 'Sept. 26'. You can't find the original movie on dvd in Rogers Video any longer.

dave, you been to HTF lately? you read the review for this DVD??? huge praise for the DVD as it bests the UTB's quality in video and audio.

but im not one to double tip, i have the TS1/TS2 2pack already...

I never did buy this, but since I'm making a HT intro DVD and this DVD has a few scenes that are perfect for it, I'll buy this on Tuesday.

I've been double dipping all the Star Trek movies and a bunch of others....it's a sickness and has been bloody expensive. I must be slowing down in my old age ;) ....haven't been buying many DVDs lately. Like only one (Sahara) in the past several months or so.

I did read the review at DVD File....didn't sound like a massive improvement.
I guess that DTS would be nice to have for TS1. :D

10 DAMN years! Holy hell! I love these 2 movies and I do own the UTB, but I can't resist. 10 years isn't too bad for a double dip considering other movies of lesser calibur double dip way more than this.

Davidy .... you say you're getting old and that your DVD buying is slowing down?? then why make Sahara one of your select movies to buy??I thought it was junk.

I find myself buying PV stuff a lot more now. Although I hate buying DVDs(or anything else) from Blockbuster, I was killing tiome after the stores slocsed and found a copy of Disneys "Silly Symphonies" for $6.99 and I had to buy it.. that and The Aviator for $10.

No case though

I'll definately pick this one up. I couldn't find the Ultimate Toybox for a reasonable price. Every used copy was selling over $100 USD on ebay.

Toy Story 2 will be released on Dec 26th (it's Monday, not the typical Tuesday release date). Evil Disney figures that more copies will be sold on boxing day.

from ultimate disney:

"In an article for Variety and Video Business, Scott Hettrick reports today about Disney's hopes to capitalize on "the great gift card effect" with its December 26th DVD releases of Toy Story 2: Special Edition and Touchstone's Dark Water. The 2-disc Boxing Day re-release of Pixar's blockbuster 1999 sequel will contain a mix of new bonus features and material included on previous releases including new deleted scenes, outtakes, multiple featurettes, and a game. Much like next week's Toy Story: 10th Anniversary Edition DVD, it is also expected to employ a higher digital bitrate and a DTS track."

I'll probably get it from BB and try to get the free lunch bag offer instead of free pop and chips at FS.

Damn I wanted to buy online at Best Buy since I have a $10 coupon but it seems to be $24.99 there. Do they price match online with FS ?

I bought it as a blind buy. IMO, it was a barely adequate movie. A few decent shots of Penelope made it somewhat better. ;)

If futureshop or BB also sell Toy Story 2 for $19.99 on the release date, then it will be only $17 before tax. :D

Oh no, they are?? I was afraid they would eventually come out with another ... I love the Toy Story franchise, but I too have the UTB, and don't want to have to buy TS3 or whatever new Toy Box they create when it comes out.

Just picked it up @ FS for 19.99 today on the 7th. I guess they won't bother changing prices until they run out of the 19.99 stock. They gave me a a free chips and pop too. Glad I saw this, was searching for the Ultimate Toybox set for the quality of the DVD's not the collector aspect. So this is perfect.
