I have the ATI AIW 9600XT and I think it's a great card. I would say that the ATI AIW 9800Pro that is $199 is a better value for preformance. The main difference between the two cards featurewise is the GPU and the 9600XT's abilitiy for dual display (analog only). There have been reports though that you can enable the 9800's dual display using a seperate DVI -> DVI/VGA splitter.

I like how they post their original price as "$349" to make you think that you're saving a huge amount of jack getting it for $149.
There's no way this card is close to being sold at $349 nowadays, but making you think you're saving $200 off the original price is part of an old practice that probably still works.

FYI...the AIW 9800 does not have the dual monitor outs (the AIW 9600 does).
This may make a difference if you use it for multi-monitor and casual gaming.

I have a AIW 9700...great for all of today's games..used it for 2.5 years now :)

According to the VGA chart recently made by Tomshardware in the summer,
there isnt a huge difference between 9800XT and 6600GT (sometime even faster), I guess we should go for the AIW9800pro and OC to 9800XT speed. ($200VS$210, but with lots of caddies...)

I wouldn't recommend this for BF2. A 9800 is pretty much the bare minimum.

If you don't have the money for a 9800pro then this card will be OK if you play at 800x600.

But when the 'next' version of BF2 comes out you probably will end up buying a new card.

If you don't have your mind set on a pure ATI board, then you can get way better deals with a third party board. Dangeo.com has the Sapphire Radeon 9600 Pro Advantage 256 MB for $110.25, or the 9800Pro for $169.40. Even the X600 Pro is only $107.80 (sold out).

Generally, I find FS is far far behind most online companies in terms of video cards.

Edit: Whoa... I didn't read clearly - Didn't notice this was an AIW. Not too bad of a deal, but I need my dualies.

I think $30 for 3 years of warrenty vs 1 year is worth it ... plus BBA these cards are Retail vs OEM Sapphire

And these are ALL IN WONDERS

I have a regular built-by ATI 9600XT (those ones that had Half-Life 2 vouchers) in my main computer. Yes it can play Battlefield 2 at medium settings, 100% view distance under 800x600 smoothly. This is with a 3.0ghz P4 and 1GB of Dual DDR400.
