A federal court in the US has frozen all the assets held by the Palestinian Authority (PA) in the country.
The ruling by the court in Rhode Island comes after the authority failed to compensate relatives of a Jewish couple shot dead by Hamas militants in 1996.

This is stupid, one lousy low-life judge from Rhode Island has the power to freeze the assets of a state? Puhhleeeze. Oh I forgot, he's american, okay that explains it.
BTW What does hamas have to do with the legitimate PLO? Nothing.

They didn't freeze the assets of an entire state, they freezed their american assets, which is well within their rights. They were ordered to pay, didn't, so now they're being forced too. A similar thing would happened to you if a court ordered you to pay for damages and you didn't after 5 years.
And it's a federal court, located in Rhode Island, not a judge in random US town.

makes sense
PA can't be in league with Hamas in the good times and sever its ties in bad times.
Why the PA would have american assets? I don't know.

You would think that groups that support terrorism would have been smart enough to liquidate their american assets by now.

Good post.
Hope this thread in done - seems there's very little to debate.
- Armed men kill civilians.
- Justice takes over - armed men found, charged and jailed.
- Victims ( families ) seek compensation / redress.
- Justice kicks in again - assets frozen.
What's to debate ?

I made myself that question too, who would be stupid enough to save their money in the US especially when you are at odds with the americans? The PA deserves to get it's US assets confiscated for sheer stupidity, next time let's hope they smarten up a little.
