hi,

i was wondering if any one any places in GTA that is decent priced to get the hair cut and styled.

Also, having a korean salon to do magic straight?? i think that's what its called, its chemically straightening the hair.

Any suggestions?????

korean places only please

I think the OP is referring to Korean-style salons. Different countries have different hairstyles.

saw_mui, let me guess... you're a fan of Korean dramas, right? :D

well, beware, like all ethnic salons, most arent exactly great hairdressers... I'd stick with canadian ones.. there are few around bloor/bay/university area...

I just didnt have great experience, last time I was at a korean salon up in north york for 'straight perms'

I go to a korean 'barbershop' now... my barber, he's old school.. no buzz cutters, strictly scissors...

canadian salons suck. theyre not used to coarse thick asian hair. asian people know how o cut asian hair because it has different texture. just goto pacific mall and cut ur hair. the whole mall is a catalog. just find a style and bring that person in and theyll cut for u. they do that straight perm and shreddies crap all day. plus asian salon know asian stars so u just tellem how u want ur hair cut like and they know.

I disagree. Goto "First Choice hairsalon" and ask them to cut you a fobby haircut and they will do a pathetic job.

Each salon has their own styles and it is aimed at certain groups of people.

for korean places, obvious answer would be at Christie/Bloor
Some girl friends have talked about Cinderella at Euclid Ave/Bloor
theres at least 5 along bloor in that area alone

Koreatown, Christie and Bloor. Lots of Korean Hair Salons there

or maybe Korea Town North, stretch between Sheppard and Cummer on Yonge. There is one at corner of Yonge and Cummer.

Whenever I go to asian places, I ask them to take an inch off and they practically shave my head. It's like they're having such a good time they don't want to stop.

When I go to a white place, they dont know how to cut asian hair and they make it lopsided.

It's really annoying and I have to always wear a hat.

Asian cutters use a cereal bowl and scissors.

Don't go to Asian shops and ask for a modern style. They'll dye your hair blonde and give you some hairsytle resembling a Japanese cartoon character.

Well I guess at the $10 asian salons you go to but if you want a good haircut you'll have to spend at least $40.

$40 for a hair cut? Are you a girl or are you one of those guys who also get the manicure treatment, too?

I pay $12 for a local Portuguese barber and he cuts it fine. China Town has some really cheap places that charge less than $10 and still do a decent job.

If you have curly/wavy hair, don't bother spending money to straighten it. Curly/wavy hair is beautiful.

Just went to Goa last night; near christie and bloor, they're on the north side of bloor east of christie, in one of those shops that are a half level below street level.

They did a great job for a great price (men's cut). The stylist who cut my hair spent some time layering, and had a good idea of what I had in mind. Ask for Tia!
