i dunno if it is or not, maybe everyother program i open, windows goes berserk. the mouse icon starts flashing and it opens up maybe 50-100 windows of that 1 program, did this happen to anyone before?, im using 2000 btw

sounds like a virus to me... doesn't sound characteristic of spyware - though I won't be quick to dimiss it either. anyways, instead of asking, why don't you start scanning so you know what it is? :)

I would suggest trying your apps in safe mode, see if they exhibit the same behaviour.
