I have a Canon MP390 and whenever I try to print something, it prints the document with the first few lines really faded then the rest of the document with nothing, I just installed a new inktank yesterday, Authentic Canon BCI-24.

I bought it from Futureshop last year in November, I may have the receipt but will they exchange/fix for me?

There should be a print head cleaning function somewhere in the driver/software, try it a couple of times.

It's definitely the printhead. Have you been using generic cartridges? Futureshop will NOT cover the printhead, it's considered a consumable.

Yeah I did all the cleaning and I can't do nozzle check since I can't see what it's printing.

In the end I got the document out but its still a bit faded.

Anyone know how much a printhead going to run? And do I have to get it straight from Canon.

check the manual to see which printhead it needs

if all else fails, try to take the printhead out and use a clean tissue that doesnt have much lint and some warm water to wipe the head
that might get rid of any clog

if that doesnt work, then the printhead is probably dead

futureshop might have printheads for MP390
again, check the manual to see which printhead is needed

Sounds like more of a ask Canon question.

I doubt Futureshop will help you. Unless you bought their extended warranty thing.
